Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Luckily my NAB billing cycle ends on the 8th with points usually hitting the account around the 10th...
First month on NAB platinum Qantas card (or whatever they want to keep changing the name to)
hopefully rake in a few points!

Red Roo, could you please confirm that this applies only to deliberately initiated transfers and *not* to direct sweeps?

I love the optimism. But as this specifically talks about redemption of credit card points to qantas points, I seriously doubt direct earn cards will qualify. Direct earn cards directly earn qantas points not credit card points.

Absolutely agree. I feel certain that this is for those cards with programs that still allow manual transfers to Qantas FF Points, eg. Amex MR Ascent Premium, Amex MR Spirit and CitiBusiness Gold Rewards.

Guess I'm lucky (for a change). Tried to transfer a substantial number of points on 26 October from Amex online, but it didn't work. Rang up Amex today and they cancelled that transfer attempt (the points had gone from my Amex account but no appeared in Qantas) and redid the transfer today. Hope I get the extra 15%...

And, in case anyone was still wondering, this was at the bottom of the email that I received a short while ago:

This offer is not applicable to any card products listed at qantas.com/cards, or other credit or charge products where the Card Partner automatically transfers your credit or charge card points to Qantas Points on your behalf on a monthly basis.

If it is also for automatic transfer then I think it is crazy if only for 6-15th as my direct transfer is 2nd of month. I will be very Pi$$ed off if a lucky group get it who have those automatic transfer dates when we have no choice if automatic.

It's not eligible for direct sweep cards.

i am really lucky to have transferred today without even knowing that this bonus points promotion was happening.

A nice sweetener, but at 15%, I'm not convinced that it will be enough. Still well short of the 50% bonus point offer Virgin made a few years ago (jumped at with no hesitation) - they're still sitting in my Velocity rewards waiting for a decent event to use them (oh for another status match offer) - this happened way before the Virgin hook up with the many partners that they have today. So, Qantas, something to think about? Hint hint ... (remember, NO HESITATION).

Annoying.
A bit of a penalty for our loyalty in working with the direct sweep program.

At least I do have points sitting in Amex ... just wonder if the 15% is enough.

So useless to most people, an interesting promotion that probably annoys more people who can't utilise than the few who can.

I can use it on ascent premium but I won't as 15% is not enough and the burn rates are too high for QF.

I was going to ask Red Roo the same question before I read your post. It definitely requires clarification re sweep vs transfer.

Should have read #29 & #30 before posting

My CBA points sweep on the 7th each month so this will be nice because I spent a lot last month on tax.
