Has anyone travelled on the new QF9 schedule. Trying to work out when to sleep and when to eat/drink?

Yes, last week.
MEL-DXB Supper and Breakfast
DXB-LHR Lunch
I had a light snack and went to sleep for about 5-6 hours. Ate breakfast prior to landing in DXB, small further brekkie in DXB and stayed awake DXB-LHR.
Great schedule, absolutely loved it.

Sorry for the thread necro - I'm doing this flight at the end of the month. For the route regulars, are you finding not sleeping on the DBX-LHR route tough or are you able to hit the ground running?

We're staying that night in London to see the Wildlife photography exhibition Events calendar - Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2015-16 | Natural History Museum and do some touristy stuff with Mr sheep who's never been. So I'm trying to time it so we can squeeze in plenty of activities without being too worn out.

I have done it twice in the last three months. In F. While I settle in for a longer 4 - 7 hrs on the longer sector each way, if I am tired I grab a couple of hours on the shorter sector. I am fortunate to not experience jet lag. I use Melatonin to settle me in when I land the first night,

I went 2 weeks ago in Y. :(. But I found the schedule great, had a sleep to DXB then a few micronaps to LHR. Arriving in the afternoon was great, no big queues, then catch up with friends for dinner and bed at around 11pm.

I find that the schedule is much better than QF1. When I traveled last month, I stayed up as late as possible on the MEL-DXB leg and managed to get around 8 hours sleep. On the DXB-LHR leg, I had a 3 hour nap and arrived hitting the ground running. Had no jet lag whatsoever. (Compare that to when I flew QF 11 to JFK a month earlier where I was in a foul jet lagged mood for about 5 days!)

Have done this flight several times now. Huge fan of the late lunch arrival into LHR. Agree with the others that an hour or two on DXB-LHR won't disturb your sleep on arrival.
Also a huge fan of QF10 arriving evening into MEL.

No issues with jetlag after QF10? Done the flight 3 times now, trying both to sleep and also not to sleep much on the DXB-MEL leg but still suffer from jetlag once in Mel.

A little bit rough the first night in MEL. I try to sleep LHR-DXB. Sleeping perfectly from night two onwards.
