Hi All
Interesting occurrence I checked expert flyer for seat availability on QF3 leaving tomorrow a few days ago and only 1/4 of seats were taken or blocked. Checked back yesterday and now all but 13 seats are available were the majority are blocked. I would guess at least 3/4 of all previous available seats are now blocked seats. Has anybody any idea, how, what, why?
Cheers

My guess is that the flight is in airport control now.

Seats are allocated for all booked passengers between 24 and 48 hours before a flight. These don't preselect them directly, but they do block the seats.

IIRC, these don't show against your booking until you begin OLCI. (Can't be sure as I have always preselected.)

I have noticed this with someone who has no status and obviously could not preselect a seat. It would appear all those without a seat selection are allocated a seat close to OLCI. When you use OLCI you see your allocated seat but if the flight is full there is nowhere to go.

It is still possible to get a half decent seat. Make sure your preferences are updated in your profile as Window/Aisle.
