QF21 this Saturday looks like it is a full flight given only 1 J seat left. This seems a bit odd given there is plenty of availability on flights either side. Is it possible they are only selling fewer seats because of cargo etc and therefore need to manage loads for weight ? Anyway to tell?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

seems like a very busy flight even on the days surrounding, without actual access to the QF systems there is no way of telling how many pax are actually booked and hold tickets though

there is not plenty of availability on flights either side. It looks chockers all weekend. Easter is coming up, next week is going to get busy.

QF21 on Wed 27th on which serfty, myself and + 1 are on, is full.

Still Looking forward to QF21 on 27th even if it is full.

Only downside is the Cherry Blossoms are opening early this year so we'll only catch the end of peak season.

How many are travelling, I can guest one into the First Lounge.

Also, as an SG, you may have a chance for an op-up.

It's being operated by a 4 class configured 744 on the 27th - all fare buckets have been showing 0 for about a week (before that there was some high cost fare availability).

All PE booked PAX are already in Skybeds (PE service) and some WP including me are allocated into PE seats.

What are you up there for, I and KPC (& +1) are going to an FT Do: Japan DO - March 29-31, 2013

My wife and I are going over for Hanami (Cherry Blossom Festival). The FT Do looks great, and has some really useful information in the post.

Thanks for the first lounge offer but even if I was solo we're on a tight connection from MEL.

Fingers crossed for an op-up.

Good luck with the connection and a possible op-up; being a WP I thought it only appropriate that a 5:30pm flight for a 3 hour transit appropriate.

Hopefully you have seats preallocated forward of row 40, although 40A/B are reasonable.

At the moment I still only have access to Row 40 at best - D to K - so in 46 D E watching, waiting and hoping something forward of 40 opens up.

Given the demand for this flight you mentioned earlier I'm not expecting anything to change but you never know.

Hmmm ... 46DE don't exist on my QF.com/EF seat maps ... guessing that was a mistype - 40D/E or G/H are reasonable seat pairs (if you can handle bulkheads).

I would be checking daily or even more frequently - currently theA/B or J/K pairs in row 35, 36 & 37 are unallocated and may become available to you in the coming days.

Sorry that was supposed to be 48DE.

Will keep checking - Thanks for the information.

My +1 and I were on QF21 in mid-Feb (it was a Friday night - full of corporates and skiers heading to Japan. flight was absolutely full). We are both NB, however we managed to get the F seats on the J tickets (one of us was even on a classic award ticket!).

T-80 has arrived and I was able to secure 38B\C - much nicer than 48F\G.

FWIW, they have changed the aircraft and no longer is PE seating available for Economy PAX.

Note that this is still sold out in economy ...

...or PE pax seating in J seats:shock:

Not this Wednesday - QF21 had been showing a 4 class configuration since October last year until Yesterday. :(

I received an Expert Flyer seat alert around 6:30am this morning indicating that my pre-allocated 38G had become vacant.

Looking at Expert Flyer the entire row 38 and 39 had become vacant.

I think some "Proactive On-loading" is in action and Bluebean may be in for a surprise on check-in.

Thanks for the heads up serfty - interesting to see what actually happens.
