First LHR-DXB QFA380- Best Lounge @ LHR?

Hi all,

Title pretty much says it all...

Background is as a NB flyer, I rarely get to fly J class, and have never flown F... LHR-PER via DXB on from LHR-DXB in J - decided to throw my hat in the ring for an upgrade to first and voila - that's now confirmed!

So - simple question - Emirates or BA lounge @ Heathrow? I'm assuming both have separate First lounges?

Cheers!

I do not think you will be offered the EK Lounge in London but you'll love the EK First in DXB. The BA first is a poor offering so I tried the AA lounge and it's no better. Using the DXB and SYD First Lounges makes the BA one look very average.

Re: First LHR-DXB QFA380- Best Lounge @ LHR?

Am I allowed to use EK first lounge in DXB? My connecting flight to PER is Emirates (therefore ineligible for upgrade - still J)...

Re: First LHR-DXB QFA380- Best Lounge @ LHR?

Others have reported access to the EK lounge at LHR. Personally I would try to lounge hop between BA F, CX F & EK F to try them all

Sorry, doubt it unless you are QF P or P1

BA - better champagne, AA - better wifi, CX - better views (IIRC).

Lowly J lounge for me in Dubai then ... Oh well - beats sitting (or standing) by the gate :)

Seems (my fault for not doing my h/w) that I'll be offered AA or BA in T3 at LHR...

May not be the most stellar of lounges, but it sounds like I can flip a coin between the two of them as neither are particularly stellar?

Hi SARN, noticed these are your first couple posts, welcome to AFF.

Can you explain why someone in F would be denied access under QF and EKs agreement?

I guess it depends on whether it's based on the inbound or outbound flight?

I'm flying LHR-DXB in F (upgraded - thanks Qantas), then DXB-PER in J.

It's not possible for me to request an upgrade on DXB-PER as it's Emirates operated (and QF ticketed).

If EK will let me use their F lounge, I'll be both surprised and delighted :)

No idea about First but in Business on QF metal you do not get in.

Cool thanks for the replies guys!

Now I just need to cross my fingers for an op-up for DXB-PER (haha... As if an NB like me would ever get that).

Thanks again for the tips - I'll flip a coin between better Wifi and nicer champagne, as someone pointed out earlier :)

I believe you can use the EK lounge at LHR which is the best of the lounges you can get into in F. This was a specific rule created for QF F pax only. You will use the J lounge in DXB.

QF F pax ex-LHR are permitted access to the EK lounge. No other QF pax are though (not WP or WP1). It's the one exception. WP etc are shuffled off to the BA or CX lounge (if you want a shower though, try the AA Flagship lounge; the lounge is cough but the showers are great).

Re: First LHR-DXB QFA380- Best Lounge @ LHR?

Can confirm that QF F pax can use the EK lounge. I have done so myself on multiple occasions.
I usually start at BA and then go CX and then EK before boarding

Thank you for confirming

You're welcome TomVexville would love to know what you think of it when you are passing through.

Will do :D

I'm guessing that QF check-in only opens 3 hours prior? To maximize hopping time of course ;)

LOL. You obviously arrive very early to go to all the lounges. Well done! :)
