On Oct 24, QF11 is not operating Syd-LAX, however QF12 is still operating LAX-Syd as a 747. Both QF107 and QF108 are operating that day, so how does QF12 operate if there is no QF11, which aircraft would they use?

Have you looked at QF93/QF94 around that period?

QF15/16 is another 747 into LAX isn't it?

Not sure about the answer

QF93/94 flights operate as A380.

On 14/10 a 747 operates QF107 but doesn't return to Sydney (QF108 is operated by A380 from QF11 and QF12 is cancelled)

On 24/10 QF11 doesn't operate but QF12 is operated by a 747. Presumably the 747 from 14/10 - what would it be doing in USA for 10 days?

Then on 31/10 QF11 operates as 747 aircraft but QF12 is cancelled and no schedule for the aircraft to return. Maybe another 747 retirement?

Probably a charter I suspect, the golfer is waiting at Sydney to head to its final destination but I doubt it's got a month to wait, and unlikely to operate a revenue service since its already had its decommissioning work done.

Edit, the golfer is leaving Wednesday, OJQ could be retiring end of month???

OJQ is the retiree on the 31st October.

Its the only MSN for sale thats not already offshore and is advertised as available in Nov.

Ah, process of elimination. Makes sense!

Edit: today's QF12 appears to have been redirected to BNE?

QF 12 now on descent into BNE

Qf12 had a 45 minute stop in BNE after a 2hr delay ex-lax.

Strong headwinds/some other reason? Crew hours? What's the weather in syd today.

Theres also qf6013 headed to BNE intl this morning but maybe thats just positioning an aircraft for BNE-lax (seems to happen not infrequently).

Generally strong winds result in a few more visitors than just the one, and Sydney weather is good, suspect its for another reason.

I'm guessing crew hours might be the issue - it was 2.5 hrs late ex-lax. Maybe the stop in BNE allowed the flight to depart without copping a 12+ hr delay.

QF15/16 do not operate Mondays.
A 744 will usually position BNE-SYD Mondays and SYD-BNE Wednesdays.
