Departing 11/12 on qf108 jfk to start return trip to sydney. My question is does 108 depart terminal 7 or 8? My flt. details says terminal 7 and I see lounge access is only in 8. If lounge access is only in 8, how easy is it to t/fer back to 7 for flt.?

many thanks

QF108 departs Terminal 7 and you will have access to the BA Terraces Lounge in that Terminal.

Terminal 8 is a predominately AA terminal (also American, Jet and Finnair) and you won't have access on departure unless coming from a connecting AA flight.

This is Serfty's stomping ground and I would await his post!!

This is correct. BA and QF operate out of T7 (as do UA, which is why I am familiar with that terminal), so you should be able to access to the BA Terraces Lounge. Once you have left the secure area of T8, you would not be permitted back through security to use the lounge. No way, José.

Yup, no access to T8 unless inbound or outbound to/from T8.

The T8 F/L is much better than the BA T7 F/L, so if inbound to T8 on AA, I visit the T8 F/L before heading across to T7 ~90 minutes before the flights departure.

I know of a WP who planned in purchasing a cheap ex T8 AA one way flight for early next month. They intend to gain access to the F/L then 'throw away' the ticket.

Personally that's a bit much.

The T8 A/C's are not bad either, but the T7 BA J/L is slightly better.

Do note that while BA has a pre-flight dining facility attached to their Business Class lounge, it is only available for BA passengers travelling in business or first. QF passengers cannot use the pre-flight dining.

All I remember is the copious array of food in little packets: packets of biscuits, packets of chips, packet of crackers, packets of cake, packets of cheese. So there is food, its just mostly in packets .

... and that's what I have seen in the BA F/L!

The OP has access to the J/L - I have little experience of food there ...

From my recollection in April , not sure about the BA food but there was certainly lots of tepid Chardonnay ;)
