I really wouldn't get your hopes up ; involuntary upgrades are rare beasts. If you hope for one, then you will often be boarding disappointed

Hehehe, good advice Dave. There are 2 of us, so if the other gets an upgrade, I'm sure the other will be annoyed. I don' really care, I fit fine in economy seat anyway ...

Now to packing!!! WOO HOO!!! Exciting

Got 2 full days and 3 nights in NYC. Anyone got favourite places they go to? I have a list but love to hear anyone elses.

Note that with Qantas op-ups are rare beasts; however if your status is high there's always the chance. Also, from my experiences this year a WP may stand a slightly increased chance, rather than extremely unlikely as per previous years. In any case, any such is likely to be to Y+ rather than J.

Just don't expect it.

Enjoy ! and 40 minutes is heaps of time, you should only need 15 mins to pack well i do anyway, easy when you travel a lot you just know what you need and how to do it.

Nah didn't get an upgrade, but didn't really care either way! Sitting in the Hilton near Times Square right now!! Just got here. Such a looong trip. It was jam packed as we all knew. Alot of people in PE that didn't expect it. We sat 53, only 3 rows from where why starts .... Was delayed by 30 minutes in SYD and then by 1 hour in LAX.

LAX customs is such a piece of poo .... it took over 1 hour to clear customs, and then no time to have a shower at the lounge. Then presented with the delay!!

Going out to dinner now!!
