Gidday team,
The screws are tightening thanks to good ol Victoria.
I need the best Western Australian, departing from PER, status run please. Chasing 65 SC, easier to do a round trip using multiple cities or stay the night.
Thoughts?

When you asked this question in the status run discussion thread you didn't respond to whether you've taken full advantage of the 50SC WWR promo. You mentioned having only earned 10SC from it.

You can earn the remaining 40SC this week by buying $400 worth of eBay gift cards - which you can then obviously buy $400 worth of actual stuff with and save some time flying unnecessarily.

That gets you down to only needing 25SC - fly to Geraldton and back in a day, discount Y one way, flex the other.

Thank you. As I mentioned may date to require these credits is 31st July and they take 6-8 weeks to crossover when earned. I have been taken the advantage of these but they are only valid as a one purchase/activation until the next offer is sent. Those gift cards are a great idea and I will definitely give them a shot

Nope, SC credited next business day for the cards I bought last week - see link below.

Nope, you can buy multiple cards on one transaction. I did it myself last Friday:

Is there a link to this deal as my Woolworths rewards app isn’t showing these gift cards

It doesn't require any activation through the app. When you go into a store, there will be a sign somewhere around the gift card section - here's the one for the promo I took advantage of last week:

The eBay cards promo screenshot I posted above is from this week's Woolworths catalogue. Here's a link to the WA version, go to page 42

Nice call, just bought the vouchers but quick question, how did you get the status credits activity showing in your account so quick. They advised that it take 8 weeks in show in my qantas account :(

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I didn't do anything, they just credited. Qantas's standard line for bonus SC promos is always up to 6-8 weeks. In reality it's usually much quicker.

As you can see in my screenshot the SC are backdated (from 22 Jun to 19 Jun) so even if they don't post by end of the month, you should be fine.

Have you sorted out your remaining 25 SC?

In theory if it pans out I should be sweet with a quick return ticket to top it up before the dreaded expiry date. In saying that I bought another promo through BWS which should have credited me 10 SC one month ago which has not been credited on my Qantas app/account

As the above have said with WWR the SC's post pretty quickly after the QFF points post. Yes the T&C say 6-8 weeks but that is standard QF. We've all experienced the SC posting more quickly. And regardless, if they posted somehow after July 31 they will (should!) still apply to this membership year anyway - either way, in my view, you're covered.

Quite apart from this (and I have not looked at the other thread referenced) but you need the SC's by 31 July to attain or retain what status level?

I post the question because given all the uncertainty I would possibly reconsider the cost and effort. If you do not have status, then Silver (for example) gives you little (your profile says Qantas Club)... if however you're nearing Gold etc that makes some sense, but I would consider this...

QF has already extended status back in March. They've made it clear they do not see a big rise in travel for the next year at least. It seems to me that the chances that QF will offer incentives such as DSC and other further down the track are high and given the relative lack of opportunities what does attaining status(whichever level) at this point give you? Of course it all depends what your current level is and what you're looking to do, but I would consider carefully both the current medium term travel situation with QF, state borders, international etc and my own plans/goals as to what I would get out of it.

just my 3 cents

Perfect, and appreciate your 3 cents. It’s exactly what I needed. Cheers for the advice. It’s great to have a forum where I can ask for advice without having to 30 mins on hold for someone from Asia to read the fine print back to me.

Edit: I do realise you have found your solution, but if you need the kick of feeling the take off an landing sensation of a plane...
Not cheap, if you go to the PER airport website, take note of all the QF planes that fly out, you will see that there are not all that much QF mainline flights, its all to out back WA, and they are not cheap.
PER - KTA is about $400 one way, and it looks like its the same plane that does the return flight, maybe if you had the $, you could do it.
Gives the kick of take off and landing, thats what I miss.
No direct PER - ADL flights, they put you onto a QF plane PER - east coast, then transit there, either MEL/SYD then ADL, same on the way back.
Fares are about $400/$500 one way.
No flights on the weekends from PER - KGI/Kalgoorlie Boulder.
As mentioned above, the WW gift cards, as are BP rewards are the only cheapish way of collecting QF SC.

Copy that. Already jumped on those gift cards. Great idea, there are also $100 dollar ones that give you 2000 WR bonus points which converts into 1000 Qantas points and 10 SC. However I debate the time I will see that arrive in my Qantas activity statement in time as I am still waiting to my first 10 SC from May appear. Apparently 6-8 weeks :(

Just checking that you already set your Woolies rewards account to the mode that the Woolies points to automatically drop your points into Qantas points.

Points go through no problem, it’s the SC that do not

Again, it doesn't matter when the SC go in, they will count to this membership year for you (there is only one known exception to this which is the loyalty bonus)
