Are seats on international flights ever released? Eventhough I'll be PS by the time I fly, I was wondering if there's a T-80 equivalent for international flights.

Yes - T-80;)

The bonus you have with this, is that a config change within that time (on the 380 for example) may open up some excellent seats that did not exist with the old config.

Keep an eye on it. Due to the small number of 380's in the fleet, you find as Serfty has alluded to you may have it switch configs several times before your flight, meaning you may lose (or gain) the carefully selected seats!
