BNE - LAX return in J for $4999 is not a bad fare.

I actually couldn't resist this QF "treat." I had been eyeing off Xmas day fares for a while and cringed at the pricing... Just scored 2xPE to Haneda on the 747-400 xBNE on Xmas Day with a Syd First Class dinner for $1499! The fare can be upgraded for 60k per pax but I think I'll hold off.

Is it too much to ask if they can include a 50% or double status credits offer with this

Pleeeeeeease Red Roo

I forgot to add that economy was selling at $2200. Scarily, JQ were selling OOL-NRT for $1200 (seat only!) I wonder if JQ users would even bother searching Qantas to compare? To me, that's a saving of $700 per person AND a free upgrade to premium economy! Now for all those naysayers who believe Airlines don't release Xmas specials - here it is! The proof will be in my Syd First pudding :p

Slightly OT but I have, several times, seen Garuda business class to Bali much cheaper than JQ economy class (seat only). And that was on GA flights with a much better arrival time in to Bali (2pm instead of midnight on the JQ flight). So I giess no - people will book based on what they think must bethe cheapest.

While not part of the current companion sale, I can see SYD-HNL return J fares on QF for $4,000. Anyone care to comment on whether this is a good price (compared to earlier sale prices offered by QF?

I did a search of this forum, and I found a reference to a companion fare for $3,500 offered earlier this year, but not sure if QF companion fares work for 2 adults and 1 child.

Seems pretty standard to me. Unless a sale comes along it would only go up.

How did you score $1499 when the price range over Xmas is showing $2300 and dummy bookings showing $2500++?

Does anyone wanna fly J to HND or NRT in late Jan 2-3 weeks later? ;)
A mate of mine wants to come but wants to fly W; looking at the $ value of points to upgrade (plus the non-guaranteed upgrades), and SCs, I'd rather just fly J @$3499!

Sorry for the delayed response, I only just saw this. I too was confused as I thought it was going to be much more. Maybe it was a mistake fare? There was only 2 seats left at that price when I booked. I did book it on Expedia in a package to get 2.8% cashback on cashrewards and just booked 1 nights accommodation.
