QF Premium Economy

If anyone caught the channel 9 news tonight (tuesday 24th July) they showed the new Qantas Premium economy class seat.

To tell you the truth it looks similar to the united seat and perhaps not even as good as the BA WT+ seat currently is.

I guess the only good news is that it will most likely be very easy to get an award seat on y+ and with the amount of destinations qantas flys you wont be limited by your holiday destinations.

I wonder how the FF points will work.

I assume for earning you will just get the full Y points with no cabin bonus... but for awards, I wonder how many extra points will it take? Halfway between Y and J? Perhaps they won't offer award seats?

How does it work on BA?

In AAdvantage if flying WT+ you get 100% base miles + 10% cabin bonus :D

Currently flying WT+ earns 10% cabin bonus on QF too.

I wonder when they will start selling seats?

I'm looking at flying DRW - LHR in March/April next year, and may consider going Y+.

I just had a look and they're not selling them yet.

Ba's program is half way between Y & J for awards.

And WT+ earns at full Y rates for points (but higher SC's)

I expect QF will handle it the same as they do for BA WT+ presently. So earning would be Full Econpmy Status Credits and 10% cabin Bonus. Burn rate is 50% premium on top of economy award.

Not to mention 1.5 Qpts/mile. :D

Hopefully it'd be the same with QF Y+.
