QF Platinum Recognition on flights

Also flew MH Y this week. Check-in staff proactively offered extra legroom which had been selling for about $110 online, even after OLCI (they don't waive the fee for Emeralds, usually). Gave me 3 seats to myself (was a 737, so row 4 - exactly like having row 4 to yourself on a QF 737).

Also pleased that they use Plaza First in Hong Kong given that CX continues with its shenanigans of banning Emeralds from The Wing, which would have been the most convenient lounge. PPL First only seemed to have a buffet running and massage offering closed, so I don't know what made it "First" compared to the regular lounge, but still, appreciate MH's effort!

No on board recognition but did have a shadow on the onward flight when most of the cabin was full. Except, on boarding - MH uses a specific boarding pass colour for G1 (Business Suite, MH Platinum, Emerald). Most other pax were waved on board but when the crew saw the colour, they took it, studied it for a moment and then gave a personal welcome by name. A nice touch.

The only time I have received anything tangible there were two other factors at work.
First, I was in F, so being given as close to royal treatment as QF gets (not even close compared to any other airline's F soft product (I have experienced F on AF, CX, EK, EY, MH & QF, find QF service below any of these), see below for an exception).
Second, it was QF2 LHR-SIN so the crew were London-based. I find them much more attentive than AU-based crew (an exception to the above).
So I don't know if the various gifts were due to either of these factors or WP status.

CX continues with its shenanigans of banning Emeralds from The Wing
Any more details on this?
Is it dealt with in another thread?
This is obviously recent - is it part of the planned renovations or something else?
Are OWE banned when traveling on other airlines?
Can emeralds still access the Wing First Lounge if they are flying business on CX, for example?

Current arrangement post the reopening of the Wing F. Only CX F and high status CX members.

OWE can still use the Pier F.

Judging by a lot of the recent reports on FT, being excluded from the new Wing F is no hardship at all!

Yes, that’s what others have said - pity.
