QF Platinum Recognition on flights

I hope I don't sound like an elitist (I can assure I am not) however being a Platinum Qantas FF member (Emerald One World) for 10+ years I find it strange that when flying on QF flights there is no recognition by the cabin crew/flight services director (FSD) of your loyalty anymore. In previous years you would have the FSD personally come by and introduce himself/herself in the early stages of the flight, sometimes offering you a drink in advance of normal service or providing biz class headphones if flying in economy. The contrast I have found in my recent travels on both Emirates and CX (noting the Emerald status) was that the FSD would make a point of coming by to introduce themselves and to ensure you are always looked after - basically making you feel special (unlike QF!).

I've found it to be hit or miss. Depends heavily on the crew. Some flights you don't get a whisper. On other flights i literally had the Y CSM chase me around the plane because I moved myself last minute. I could see him doing the rounds pause at my previous seat with a very perplexed look (as it was empty), ask the person next to it then disappear. 5mins later he came over to me and asked if I moved from that seat and introduced himself.

I (P1) and my companions (platinum) rarely get a special welcome, domestic or international, Y or J. More often than not it'll be a quick 'Welcome back' upon boarding and then no special treatment at all.

What route?

You won't get anything on domestic as there's just too many elites flying Y.

International Y, I've had a personal welcome on just about every flight in recent years.

International J it's much more discrete, usually will happen later in the flight - it's more of a chat than an offer (since you're in J, you don't need to be elite to ask for things).

On other airlines, EK Y, EK J no; QR Y yes, QR J - I don't recall, I don't think so. BA/AA/AY nothing.

Here's a thread discussing this.
