QF Platinum Loyalty Bonus Scam

Just amassed 2518 status credits and intended to gift Gold to a friend, only to discover bonus status credits earned through double status credit offers don't count. There's no mention of that in Qantas' general Platinum Benefits info, only that you need 2400 status credits credits, which must be earned on eligible QF and Jetstar flights (the same wording used with double status credit offers). What a scam! Who else has encountered this and did you have any luck 'appealing' the ruling? I'll be heading to the Consumer Affairs if they don't honour the offer...

You obviously didn’t read the terms and conditions of the offer in the email and on the activation landing page, ie

Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer do not count towards Loyalty Bonus, Platinum Bonus Reward, Platinum One Bonus Reward and Status Accelerator/Challenge earn requirements

Yeah as above it has always been one of the terms of the DSC offers. You can see your count if you log in via the web (not the phone app) and check status activity under the status drop down menu.

Concur with all of the above.

Nothing new here. It's like people who don't put in for separate seat selection refunds if they need to pay for seat selection on CX when they cancel a ticket. If you didn't read the small print, it's not their fault.

I don't mean this to sound harsh, but your complaint would likely be dismissed with RTFM.

It wasn’t always the case. I remember DSC counting to the loyalty bonus but that stopped many years ago now.

It’s actually a bit easier to reach P1, as dsc do count for that. I had over 5,000 sc last membership year, and still didn’t qualify for the Platinum bonus!

They will not honor the offer as there is no offer. No point going to consumer affairs.
For as long as I can remember DSC have never counted for the 2400SC
It’s exactly the same deal as the 50SC for every 500 earned, presumably you have come across this at some point in your membership year ?
