QF PER-SIN cancelled, rebooked on Jetstar? Is this acceptable?

16 Dec. I called last week and was told someone would call in a couple of days (they didn't). So, I called back when I had chance and only noticed the 3K change whilst looking at my booking whilst on phone to them. They looked at a number of options which took time and as I had to go to a meeting, they called me back, left a vmail saying they had found some options, and for me to call back and confirm.
All in all, pretty happy with how they handled it.

May I ask what date your flight to Singapore was? Did you call CSR or did they call you?
Getting worried as we are booked to fly home from Sin-Per 6Jan, nothing has changed on manage my booking as yet, and prices and options are getting harder to find.

January or June?

As others have mentioned they are calling those affected sequentially. If it is January I wouldn't be expecting a call until those in front of you have been contacted.

Re: 27th February Big Qantas announcement

Yes you can as it is an involuntary change and QF can handle that

Having spoken with 3 agents, it looks like this is not completely possible, unless they are all incompetent.

I had 2 br fares altered, they can do the rebooking but you need to call expedia to have them confirm the new flights or something.

This is probably the best way to go about it though, so you don't have to do too much communicating with Br. Just call and say yes to the new flights.

Re: 27th February Big Qantas announcement

Has anyone got their cancelled per-sin flight changed to jq receive any compensation?

Also has anyone had any luck on changing to MH/CX as per their commercial policy?

Ideally would be great if they let us switch to SQ.

Just had a call from QF agent to say my One World Rights don't apply for this flight, I asked him the other day what my OW rights would be and he said NO change because it is a QF flight number then I asked him to put it in writing just got back saying NO, That's what you get for putting all your eggs in one basket , you get shafted, his smart reply was "well go via MEL" 15hrs instead of 5, really p******d off

That's correct - this is not something that QF would process, it's something that your TA (in this case expedia) need to do. Just because it's an involuntary change doesn't mean that QF would take over the booking.

Good to hear you got your new flights sorted though.

I hope you got his name and location for reference & let CC (now there's an oxymoron) know the CSR's comments.

I had 2 attempts and got it sorted on the second. I did the homework and told them the flights that were available on MH and all was sorted.
They want you to give up and take the codeshare as it is the cheapest option for them.

Its just a matter of getting a CSR who wants to do the customer service role and knows what are YOUR not their options.
Don't give up and don't wait too long as they may decide there are too many jumping to CX/MH and it is costing them.

Edit: Strange they told you the OW rights don't apply as the first CSR I spoke to advised that as it was now a QF codeshare they would honour the QF conditions of 30kg bags, SCs/miles and a food and drink voucher.

I had the offer to go MH but it meant a overnight in KL would be ok if QF paid for it, what annoys me more than anything is I ( WE ) are always the one s that are inconvenienced, why not put us on SQ, that would have been the most convenient, but no shaft us again , we had the same problem last june when we lost the Hong Kong rout all different change of plane/ carriers. NOT HAPPY ( you know the rest)

I assume you are needing the overnight stay in KUL from PER. Does MH126 leaving PER early am not work for you?

We are arriving SIN from coughet, if we went to KL instead we would have to overnight in KL to get back to Perth!

NO no not at all, the trip was Per-Sin coughet return.

Iam assuming here that it is all 1 PNR and that the SIN-HKT leg was with deathstar... if not, disregard the following and I'm sure there will be another option.

There may be another option provided under QFs Commercial Policy Statement re QF77/78 issued 13 March ... you may have to plead your case for the change from SIN to HKT,

This may have been posted elsewhere in full, so apologies if it has

So what you are saying the trip is going further than SIN so we should be able to go with either MH or CX via KL or HK??

HUCA ?

Is it worth asking QF if we can come back to Perth from coughet with MH ? They have a flight to KL then Perth and about the same time of arrival as would have had with J*. We would have been flying from coughet With J* then J* SIN- PER, do you think they can refuse using 2diff carriers?

I don't see how your suggestion falls outside the re-booking policy.

If you have all flights booked on 1PNR. i.e. 1 ticket, routed PER-SIN/SIN-HKT and return, and not two separate tickets, ( PER-SIN/SIN-PER with one booking number and SIN-HKT/HKT-SIN with another booking number ), then IMO QF should offer you the MH option on the affected flights that would suit you best.
If you have two separate booking numbers then you may have to plead your case as they will say their responsibility is only to the sectors booked with them on that booking number.
You can only ask, and ask, but I wouldn't wait too long to do it.

ALL one ticket

ALL one ticket

As it is one ticket, I would look through the MH flight schedules, put together the ones that suit and ask for the routings.
If they won't give it to you, HUCA,and keep trying.
It took me two attempts to get MH flights, the result with MH I was after was through Brisbane call center. It seemed too hard for the Melbourne call centre CSR to offer anything other than the 3K option.
