Hi all

I am just about to experiment with OLCI for my first domestic flight in a while. I am ending my DONE4 and my wife is on an award ticket. I called QF a while ago to link the PNR - which they did, but the bookings still have separate references. I assume all will be ok.

I guess I just wanted to check whether I will need to check in both of us separately on line with the linked PNR - I assume this is the case.

Are there any other promotions I should try and take advantage doing this for the first time? I registered for the lenovo promotion recently. ANy other giveaways I should check out?

I will be checking in at 11:35 and taking my laptop with me on the trip so I can check in for the return trip.

I have done OLCI in the US - not sure why I am nervous about QF more than AA...

Since your Oz based DONE4 travel is part of an international itinerary that OLCI might not work for you. You may see the 'button' activated in Qantas.com MMB, but when selecting it, a message indicating your booking is not eligible could appear.

OLCI should work for your wife.

There is a greyed out box for OLCI on my booking on QF - I will provide an update later.

One interesting point is that I have rechecked "check my trip" and I have my FF numbers in 4 times (twice each for QF and AA - which might explain why my points didnt post as planned).

Pity they didn't post double, oh well.
I am still not sold on the online checkin, i would do it for busy flights but if lots of J available then i like to turn up at the counter and ask nicely. Never know how you can get an upgrade.

I am in J and it was showing J0 outbound and J2 inbound so I want to make sure we get a decent enough J seat.

Do you have a paper ATW ticket? If so then you cannot use OLCI

Dave

My paper ticket was converted to electronic in LAX when I deleted the LGA-ORD-LGA segments.

Well that was a bust - on neither itinerary could I do OLCI:

We are unable to process your check-in request at this time. Try again later or check-in at the airport. [ER100]

I assume that the seat allocation will be ok - but who knows :(

This week I travelled on an electronic ticket MEL-HKG-SYD-MEL. On Monday only the SYD-MEL bit remained and the OLCI button was 'sensitive'.

Clicking the OLCI button produced the message the booking was invalid for OLCI.

My case may have been different; anyway please tell us how you go :D

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

All sorted now - not sure what the problem was. We have seats 2AC. The BP is showing my QFF number - but I will change that at the QP. I dont think that there is much point inserting mrssimongr's AA number - its not a points earning flight.
