For those of us who prefer the printed boarding pass I noticed this week that QF are no longer printing the FF number on the boarding pass. Instead of QFxx_xx_x it simply displays QF. I presume this is to get around any privacy issues and potential risks to compromising FF accounts...

Earlier this week I noticed that my QFF number was not on the OLCI PDF, but after I missed a connecting flight Tuesday morning in SYD the transfer desk gave me a new BP that had my QFF number on it.

I had to get a printed boarding pass last night in CBR because they rerouted me and mine has my full QF number on it (and as an aside I now have to chase up ORC :()

They stopped putting FF# on the OLCI BP quite a while ago..I recall noticing this as early as May this year.

I have no inside knowledge, but I suspect it may be to make it harder for QFF accounts to be hacked. People often leave their boarding passes on planes, or drop them in the airport, or throw them in the trash (I work in an airport and all three happen regularly).
A BP containing both your name and QFF number is already a lot of the info needed to log in, or perhaps to get a PIN reset.
Call me paranoid, but I always shred my BPs after flying.

Just done a number of flights with AC and NZ. No FF details on BP but points etc all came through very quick

Hello Paranoid 😉
I do the same.

The FF number is still in the barcode (at least, I presume it's still there), which is easily decoded if you have a photo of it. It also has the PNR....which is more problematic.

I also had my frequent flyer number on my boarding pass on Friday.

What kind of boarding pass was this? I.e. issued by a kiosk, service desk or printed at home?

My QFF number was on both my boarding passes last Wednesday.

Consistently inconsistent?
Agree - just had a boarding pass issued at a transfer desk in SIN and my FF number is quoted. The security issue should be taken seriously though.

Just printed a boarding pass at a kiosk at PER T4 (domestic) and it has my QFF number printed on it as usual.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Probably a good start, but how many people / influencers etc show imageson Instagram/FB of their BPs occluding their name but clearly showing their (easily decoded) barcode?

Maybe its one of those as-yet-unannounced LTP benefits :p

Not me, I keep 'em in a safe place until expected points/SC's post.

Me too, and as I posted a while back, keeping my international BPs for a year (I used to just throw 'em into a drawer), helped me get a $10K AusTrade grant, as BPs were one of two ways you could substantiate O/S travel already made, when applying for a grant to expand Australia's exports. ✈:p😍
