For the stuff I buy, they are quite competitive.

Maybe I'll have to change searching strategy from "stuff I actually want" to "stuff Mrs 2905 would like".

EDIT: I still must be doing it wrong. eg; 100ml of her favourite perfume is $39 from DJ's, but $27 elsewhere. Paying an extra $12 to get 890 QFF points (equating to about 1.35¢ each) doesn't really appeal to me.

I think I'm a winner with this one... Everyday rewards bonus spend $50 online for 2000 bonus. I spent $300, will get free delivery tomorrow and got a 10% automatic discount (I presume for being my first order). My Qantas offer is earn 1450 with a partner receive 1000 bonus. So, unless somehow the EDR bonus doesn't count towards the Qantas bonus, I will have 3270 points for my $270 spend.

I was just thinking about the T&Cs on this:
"Bonus Qantas Points will be awarded if between 1 December and 31 December 2014, the member has (1) registered via the button in the email communication and (2) earned Qantas Points in the ‘shopping’ icon, equal to or above the value required to earn bonus points as communicated in the email communication to the member."

If the points have to show up at Qantas by in the month, spending money to get them may be pointless. Qantas Mall says it takes 30 days for the points to post, so I wonder if the money I spent on the 2nd (which I was going to do anyway) will count. Cellarmasters T&Cs say 6 weeks, although I've sometimes received them in 3-4 weeks.

Mine was earn 1650 point for bonus of 1500. Just purchased cashmere top from Macy's 1040 points down, 610 to go.......
(just hope I don't have to go thru all this S!!t to get the points that I have gone thru with Staples.)

Perhaps I should not have written that last line........

Just realised that the cashmere top had not yet arrived, and other items from the USA have, go to Paypal - was still showing as "pending", with all the other Christmas shopping had not been paying much attention to something for me. Looks like the order did not get processed by Macys, no shipping email, etc, but it made it to Paypal, but just not completed, as they dont take the money until the order is right.
Will now have to see if I have earned 1650 points from other purchases.
No Chrissy pressie for me now.

It doesn't matter when the points post.

The important part is when points are earned and for this promotion that needs to be in December. You will more than likely have until 31 January for points to post.

I spent $59.85 and was expecting 10 points per dollar spend, have only received 290 points. Waiting on the phone now to see why.

Same here. Someone in the QF mall thread noted that the Ts&Cs say it can take 12 weeks for the bonus points to post.

I am not expecting the "bonus" points ( i.e earn 1650 points from the Mall during December and get 1,500 Bonus points) but I would have thought that the 10 points per $ spent at DJs would have come as one transaction.

So... you see the the extra points from DJ's under the "bonus" umberella? (was 5 points per $ when it first started the promo)

My points from Ebay purchases yet to post, so I guess will see how that gets applied.

I for one counted a $10.00 spend at DJ's would have given me 100 points, but if the double bonus points are not counted, (and have not been placed in my account yet) is there going to be a few of us out there that have only earned half the amounts needed to get the final bonus?

The terms say that you have to /earn/ the points in December and nothing about when you have to receive them by. They say you will receive the bonus points by the end of Jan.


I think it's reasonable to argue that you have earned the extra points from online mall in December, even if they could take up to late March to post. I expect they'll be a number of AFFers, including me, arguing with QFF that though since the extra mall points don't have to post until two months after QFF would presumably be doing the December spend calculation.

I suspect there will be a lot of arguing going on. As per Princess Fiona and IIRC Red Roo the total shown on the shopping icon for december is the final determinant. I had a 1000 bonus points that are listed on my statement as transferred on 29/11 but credited on 2/12 (or something like that). Pretty sure they are counted in my December shopping icon total.

11K points from shopping! Crazy! I've been screwed since the EDR bonus emails dried up in mid-november. I could've made my target if I purchased my christmas present from DJs online. But SWMBO spoke to a salesperson in Myer, got good service, and her and the children enjoyed the research and making the purchase. That beats 1500 bonus points any day.


Edit: to add insult the 384 points for the christmas eve shopping trip have been credit on 1 Jan. Overall a promo that has totally failed to consider the weakness of the points crediting processes. I rate it as a fail from the customers point of view. (hence I didn't really bother) But no doubt Qantas are happy with the increase in sales.

If the shopping icon is an indicator, then I am fine, 2616 earned during December, I needed 1650 to get the bonus 1500.

I may or not make it without the mall bonus points. Right now it shows 506 for Dec (1350 needed), and not posted: 295 base mall points, 640 bonus mall points, and around 200 EDR points.

I didn't think about it earlier, but buying wine is split across categories - Shopping for BWS and Cellarmasters, and Food&Wine for Epiquire.
