New poster - pls be gentle!
Wife and I are flying QF to LAX from MEL Friday 2nd June, but since being downgraded to Silver have only a single valid lounge pass. I have an expired pass and thought I could at least ask the nice gatekeeper if they would give us consideration but suspect I'm setting myself up for a fail. Have an upgrade request in for Business but not confident we'll get it. Can anyone suggest a legit way we could both gain access?

I believe it may be possible to buy another lounge pass on ebay.

Welcome to AFF.

It's against the terms of this site, but other sites offer passes for sale.

You could also monitor this thread as passes are sometimes given away to active members:

Free to a Good Home

In future I'd suggest you plan to have some passes on hand. Often credit card offerings come with free passes. Details here:

Sincere thanks for your suggestions - all of you. I'll give the fleabay option a miss however. Lounge meets looks like the go Daver6 and I do need to review CC provider Dr Ralph.

Yes I think it is now by invitation only:

Lounge Invitation

The original trial had full price access but the invitation generally offers a discount.Alternatively the Admirals Club one day pass (at $US59) will also do the job.

Angel gatekeeper allowed me to use my expired pass for +1 . I'm very grateful and impressed by QF for doing this. Also thanks for tips and suggestions offered by other members.
