Hi Frequent Flyers.

I'm a WP and booked on QFInt MELLHR in X Class coming up and noticed that from a couple of days ago a seat fee is payable for me to assign seats on the booking. I thought maybe it wouldn't charge but as soon as I attempted to confirm, credit card needed.

Is this new?

Your frequent flyer number isn't in the booking properly, once you have it added correctly the seat charge will disappear.

Already checked it, my pax details are all a-ok. Might just be a system error. (fingers crossed)

Again, your FF number isn't in the system properly. Either take it out and re-enter it (if QF MMB doesn't work try AY or RJ), or call QF to have it re-entered?

I've had the same issue previously - QFF number was not properly inputted by the travel agent. A call to Qantas sorted it out.

I called QF and the agent confirmed there should be no fee. My details are all correct and the booking shows my correct status level. It just looks like the booking is broken. Seat was assigned by the agent at no charge. Still tries to charge on Manage My Booking but not an issue anymore. ;)

Thanks for your help team!

The agent did the right thing. ...

... However, there is still a problem with your booking and its relationship with you QFF account.

Not all agents know how to dig deeper (or some can't be bothered) to find the real reason.

I would still get my QFF number refreshed in the booking (using one the methods already outlined).

Otherwise the problem causing a fee to be automatically assessed for seat allocation may cause other issues with your booking later on.

I agree with Serfty. When I had the same issue the agent I spoke to told me that my QFF number was in the booking but the travel agent had put it in the Cathay field (or had put it in as a Cathay number or something). In any case, the booking showed up in my FF account but did not have the WP benefits because the QFF number was in the wrong field in the booking. The agent put my QFF number in the correct field and that fixed it.
