Depends on the sensitivity of the person in front and the rate of air flow. On most flights I can bearly feel the cool air coming through the air vent. Another way to avoid recliners is to sit in a bulkhead, or row 4 on 737s, for domestic flights and bulkheads and exit rows for international flights. I have not had to worry about recliners for well over a year....Does that actually work? I've never thought of doing that but it seems like a great idea. Nothing worse than someone reclining into your face on a 1 hour daytime flight. A steady stream of cold, dry air in the face would be a great deterrent.
