QF gold lounge pass eligibility on requal silver

I'm an SG. My SCs reset to zero on 1 April. In July I traveled several sectors in J, including a couple of international sectors which got me to the PS requal target of 250SC and then to requal SG 600SC just a couple of weeks later.

Previously I've received a single use lounge pass when passing 250SC but that didn't happen this time. I remember reading somewhere on AFF that if you hit SG too quickly after passing PS the QF system doesn't generate the congratulations letter and lounge pass.

I called QF today to ask about what I believe is a missing lounge pass. A CS agent claiming 18 years experience told me I'm wrong and this has never been the case. She says if you're SG your requal target is SG and passing 250SC is irrelevant as you already have lounge access.

Is my understanding incorrect, or do I need to call again and try for a different CS agent?

Anyone with experience in a similar scenario?

I think the agent is currently.
You don't get silver on the way to requal. At the end of the membership year if you dont requal you will drop back and get a silver pass.
You don't get a welcome pack for requal to a lower level. Your higher level trumps the lower one and is still valid.

I agree with Sdtravel, you don't get the benefits (in this case a Silver lounge pass) as you pass the level if you're already a higher level. If you were a Silver and re-qualified, and then kept on going to Gold, that may be a different story.

Well that's a bummer. But also fair enough. Seems the single entry pass sent to me in the same circumstances last year must have been a rouge.

Looks like the MIL will have to sit in the cheap seats on the next trip. I'm devastated. (Insert sarcasm smiley)

Some credit cards will let you get two QANTAS lounge passes. This may be worth considering if you are desperate for them.

Also sometimes users here may give lounge passes away for free that they can't use, I think I've read.

Thanks. I'm aware of both options, but certainly not desperate for one. Was just checking the rules with the brains trust.
