QF Flounge: Does anyone know when the menu changes?

Will try to arrive very early on the Friday, hoping for 3 hours or so in the lounge, allowing me to have breakfast AND lunch (and if I'm lucky a nice massage as well ;)). Thinking Champagne breakfast with Eggs Benedict and Bollinger, then the Carpaccio (I'm allergic to seafood so will hopefully get them to leave those little fish off for me...) followed by the pulled Wagyu brisket sandwich or the pasta with pork ragout, can't really decide yet. What a nice problem to ponder on while sitting out the first four days of the week :D
Will, as always, steer clear of the rather cheap wines they got and rather hang on to my Bollinger

:D
For tomorrow night I am thinking:
Entree - Figs, roquefort and jamon - brilliant combination with sweet figs (had a fig and pancetta pizza last night)
Main - Maybe the chicken curry, just so I can also try the pulled wagyu sandwich
Dessert - damm the pav looks good, although the brownie special is tempting.

The wines are more difficult
Whites - love the squealing pig but have half a case, the rockford semillion looks attractive, the rose (alicante bouchet) has mixed reviews
Reds - have some of the coldstream, generally go for the torbreck shiraz - any other recommendations?

Have enjoyed the Devils Lair Cab Sav for a decade or more. Today's doesn't disappoint. As we speak in fact :D

Enjoy! :p

I was always under the impression that those wines in the lounge are not of the highest quality. But I'll give it a go this Friday and will be happily convinced to be wrong! :D

Had a couple (well maybe a lot ) of glasses 3 weeks ago and was thinking to stick with it next month

My opinion is the First Lounge wines are equivalent to the Business Class International in the air (ie. typically in the $25-40 retail category/ $50+ restaurant)
First Class air wines are generally a step-up again.

Will sample the cab sav in 6hrs or so.

Think I might arrive very early for my Thursday flight QF9 and have a late lunch.

Salt and Pepper Squid and Yellowfin Sashimi look good.....

I am definitely arriving very early for my BA16 departure :D

Thinking of the Salt and Pepper squid with some chips and then the chicken breast with the tomato and pineapple curry and a chocolate brownie to top it off...

Now the waiting begins

Missed you Storyteller :(
I was having a massage, should have sent you a txt (doh!!) as reached the lounge at 13.25
OT I just had my first ever guesting experience : a very nice FT'er from Perth who is going to DFW.
Slight embarrassment when I mentioned to the front desk that a guest would be joining me later, asked for his name so I wouldn't have to leave the cosy lounge to collect him. I knew his handle and first name so promptly said "Mr Blah Smith". Some hasty texts ensued. It all worked out in the end :D

Still two more weeks until my next visit :(

Now for someone who does not like to be touched by other people a massage is out of the question - so should I bother with the hot steam facial or just drink more champers?

At least I can plan my dinner now ;)

Anyone had the pork - how spicy is it?

To uploads tonights selections

The Fig entree
Awesome - very light, very sweet figs nicely balanced with some small pieces of jamon and some smelly cheese, plus some nuts

The Chicken Curry
Nice fragrant curry. Reasonably spicy - not 5* but enough that it would be too much for some (just right for me).
Good quality chicken breast... very tasty

The special chocolate brownie.
Maybe the presentation is not up there with the pav, but still dammm tasty.

Now back OT, here is the Salt and Pepper squid and Pav:

Massage was pretty good. Menu pics to follow :)

I enjoyed the same in the MEL Flounge today Princess Fiona, though the squid was presented somewhat better than you have there. I didnt think to take pics, sorry.
I think this is becoming a 'dangerous for my health' obsession! :D

Just showed the last couple of pages to Mr Katie. He is looking forward to our visit (with Little Miss :-|) in 4 weeks and 4 days ... will take the edge off the Y flight to HNL. ;)

Hmmm, presents a dilemma when I'm off to DFW on the 24th. Too many choices, and always tempted to try and jag a massage as well!

Might have to allow 3 hours!

Re: Autumn menu

Was there yesterday. Here's some snaps of important parts of the menu:

Does anyone else appreciate the irony of all day dining which only runs from midday onwards?

Hmmm had to think about that one, but that is after 2 champers and a glass of red (plus the squid and steak) in MEL F lounge as we speak.

Annoyed at no James Squire in MEL lounge.......
