Do double status credits apply if booked through a third party such as flybuys travel or must it be direct though Qantas? Also, would double status credits count towards the 100 required for the gold status fast track? I’m heading to cairns via Sydney just after Easter so either way this comes in handy.

I think so but double check the T&Cs. You need to register for the promo on Qantas.com whoever you book through.

I seriously doubt that. Check the T&Cs. I think you’ll find that bonus SCs are specifically excluded from counting towards the 100 required.

From the T&C's looks like the DSC does count towards the fast track requirement:
What do bonus Status Credits count towards?
Bonus Status Credits earned from this offer also count towards retaining or attaining your membership tier and the Qantas Status Fast Track earn requirement#.

I'm not sure this is worth chasing for me with locked in WP until 2022 and LTG.

The only thing i could think of was the status rollover, but I think double status credits will be excluded from the rollover.

Which Status Credits count towards the rollover?
Status credits earned through flying or with our partners on the ground will count towards the rollover. Status Credits provided by Qantas as a bonus, support or gift will not count towards the rollover.

You could book flights for your next membership year perhaps but only a limited number would want to book that far ahead.

I would think the DSCs would be part of the rollover into your next membership year. By extending everyone's status with just one flight, Qantas has effectively told everyone to forget about their current year and look to the next so I think it would seem silly to exclude them.

That said, "bonus status credits" is included in the advertising which would suggest they are excluded.

Once again, the complexities of QFF mean we're left scratching our heads.

Yeah my plan is to book (50) 100 sc worth of status credit flights during my fast track which starts march 30 then a bunch of flights for my following membership year which starts 31st Jan 2022.

Because of this ridiculous bonus rollover T&C, I've decided to delay some leisure travel by a few months to ensure the SC definitely count to both my and my partner's next membership year.

Qantas really haven't thought this though.

So would it be worth going for the DSC or waiting to book the half price flights on 1April?
also regarding the half price flights... which price will this be based on?
I want to fly to Mel/Brisbane in July and the return flight is $328 at the moment with DSC which I think is a good deal maybe I’ll book it? Any thoughts?

Pretty sure MEL-BNE won’t be a subsidised route.

The public releases indicate the 50% will be on the average fare so I suggest buying the $328 as that is a very low fare.

Brisbane and Melbourne aren't on the subsidised route list (well depends where you are coming from?) Only "regional" areas are on the list. There is a list somewhere that has all the airports that will be eligible. So go ahead and book it as it won't be 50% off.

Not quite. Not open to NZers or other non Australian residents.
I wonder why that is, wouldn't QF want the revenue no matter where the member resides? Doubtful I'll get back in the foreseeable future but with such a wide window for travel and unlimited date changes I'd have bought a couple of tickets hoping I might be able to use them and if not chalk it up to another covid loss.
* Qantas Frequent Flyer members who reside in Australia (with an Australian address in their Frequent Flyer Profile), register and make an Eligible Flight booking between 12.01am (AEDT) 25 March 2021 and 11.59pm (AEDT) 30 March 2021 for travel between 31 March 2021 and 28 February 2022 are eligible to earn double Status Credits.

Had a brief look last night, nothing of any great value but have booked a couple of trips to WGA to see my parents

When booking a J Award trip with connection, and one of the flight is tagged as "Your flight from X to Y will be in Economy", do you know if the SC earned (thanks to Points Club) for this section is calculated as J fare or Y fare?

Trying to rebook a bunch or trips here, busy morning :)

It will earn as ticketed, so Economy.

So I booked a flight to Norfolk Island today..... then I saw Double SC and registered. Then remembered the NLK flights depart international.... Who knows if I'll get the extra 50SC. Probably not that important, my status will get extended to July 2022 and any serious chance at retaining gold after that will require international flights to resume.

I asked Qantas on social media, and they confirmed that Norfolk Island counts as domestic for earning double status credits.
