QF Double Status Credits February 2026 Promo

Bugger that for a joke; I’m stopping in the AKL Pullman. If you’re gonna do DSCs, you need to do it in style…
That's not a bad way to do it. I would 100% stay somewhere nice for a status run, but for mine I will get in after midnight and fly out at 6am. Really can't justify staying somewhere nice for ~3 hours.

We don't have the leave or funds to play the status run game this year, but some flights that needed booking anyway and careful timing may get us both to Silver. Need to figure out a Points Club strategy I think- it seems difficult to make best use of a large number of points without status, but we don't earn status credits when most of our flying is rewards bookings.

Anyone kept a track of how much fares have increased for this DSC promotion?
I had my eye on a MEL SCL flight that’s jumped just over $1800 for the same flights. I’ll be qualified for platinum anyway so don’t care (I was toying with going P1 but 🤷‍♂️) - I’ll wait for a sale and save my cash.
I'm sitting this one out, although I'm feeling conflicted doing so.

I've retained Platinum this year so I have status through to the end of July 2027. I've opted against spending my own money to push for P1, given my business travel has dropped off significantly (I've yet to board a plane this year...) and I have no personal travel plans.

Spending $8.5k of my own money to become P1 for the benefit of 'being' P1 through to the end of July 2027 and then dropping down to Platinum for August 2027 to July 2028, isn't worth the hit to my savings when I'm flying significantly less than I used to.
You’re in my head lol

Is this another fight club like situation (yes or no will do 😎)

I get that it’s QF metal but from OP’s post it’s, booked and ticketed by AA, so not on 81- stock. So not a QF CR that would be eligible for points club SCs.
It's not even a glitch, ticket stock doesn't matter, marketed=code, operated=metal. Even retro-claims have been 100% successful (since it's become near impossible to change the FF# on 125- bookings).

If you can easily get there, then do so.

But don’t go out of your way for Silver. Even though you get access to award seats on QF 26 days earlier than Bronze, you’re still competing for seats after Gold and higher have had them available for a few weeks before Silver do.

In addition, the increased access is only really relevant to Qantas award seats (and there aren’t that many of those anyway, even to Silver and higher) and Emirates first award seats. So bear this in mind when you consider whether it is worthwhile.
