IMO $6/SC when one needs to go somewhere is better than $4/SC to just visit AKL transit areaHard to find anything good to go to Paris at a decent $/SC. All I could find was around the $6/SC![]()
That’s fairIMO $6/SC when one needs to go somewhere is better than $4/SC to just visit AKL transit area
It's tough being in Sydney without the bonus SCs to connect from regional Australia...That’s fairI think I was getting maybe a bit greedy.
Bugger that for a joke; I’m stopping in the AKL Pullman. If you’re gonna do DSCs, you need to do it in style…$4/SC to just visit AKL transit area
That's not a bad way to do it. I would 100% stay somewhere nice for a status run, but for mine I will get in after midnight and fly out at 6am. Really can't justify staying somewhere nice for ~3 hours.Bugger that for a joke; I’m stopping in the AKL Pullman. If you’re gonna do DSCs, you need to do it in style…
You can always fo visit regional places for funIt's tough being in Sydney without the bonus SCs to connect from regional Australia...![]()
I had my eye on a MEL SCL flight that’s jumped just over $1800 for the same flights. I’ll be qualified for platinum anyway so don’t care (I was toying with going P1 butAnyone kept a track of how much fares have increased for this DSC promotion?
You’re in my head lolI'm sitting this one out, although I'm feeling conflicted doing so.
I've retained Platinum this year so I have status through to the end of July 2027. I've opted against spending my own money to push for P1, given my business travel has dropped off significantly (I've yet to board a plane this year...) and I have no personal travel plans.
Spending $8.5k of my own money to become P1 for the benefit of 'being' P1 through to the end of July 2027 and then dropping down to Platinum for August 2027 to July 2028, isn't worth the hit to my savings when I'm flying significantly less than I used to.
It's not even a glitch, ticket stock doesn't matter, marketed=code, operated=metal. Even retro-claims have been 100% successful (since it's become near impossible to change the FF# on 125- bookings). Is this another fight club like situation (yes or no will do)
I get that it’s QF metal but from OP’s post it’s, booked and ticketed by AA, so not on 81- stock. So not a QF CR that would be eligible for points club SCs.
