Above from v8statesman:

No Soft landing. I'm Gold this year. Just not updated my profile from last year.

To the people saying it is a soft landing are you not reading this?

Sorry, I didn't read properly.

It is not "too far out" for a systemic review and comp by QFF - I have the same renewal date as OP & I've just been comped my 10 SC's to WP for another year. I was last year as well at about the same time.

SWMBO was comped Gold last year 8 weeks out with only 180 SCs. This year she made WP...

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I can confirm this is a nice thing we do :p!

There are a number of processes (unpublished) that occur when a member is due to be downgraded to the tier below, including looking at prior flying.

If you get retained this way and then make it yourself anyway the system will change to reflect that the retain was via reaching the required Status credits.

Hope this helps.

Great news Red Roo :) Good to know ( unofficially) that I might have this as a back up if I have a lean year :)

Great to know Red Roo - and it is a nice thing that QF do.

Despite my best efforts - I'm sure that I will need to avail myself of the "niceness" at some point :)

Thanks Red Roo. I had thought / hoped that the system would recognise that you'd retained status yourself as above, as this has happened to me twice now.

I just received the letter from QFF with my new card saying "it appears that you may not achieve the required number of status credits to retain platinum, but in recognition of...." . The letter was dated 6 September, SC balance on that day was 1190, and another 80 SC's were already booked and paid for, and my renewal date is 31 October. To be honest it was frustrating as I knew re qualifying was hardly a problem.

Maybe you need another version of the letter saying "it looks like you will achieve the required status credits to retain - so we're sending you your new card early.":)

It is very nice and my wife who could not fly because of an accident one year was comped and she made WP the year after. It pays to look after customers

Thanks for confirming this Red Roo. It's always nice when the unpublished benefits occur in our favour - even nicer when the published ones go the same way :D

It's nice to think that due to your work changes and ability to do more flying again v8Statesman, you'll head back up to WP or WP1.

I can only dream :(

So maybe having 400 SC and being silver isn't a complete waste after all. Maybe QF should comp me up to Gold to match My Virgin card. :)
