Hi

I am shortly travelling Mel-Syd on QF and then Syd-Kul on Jetstar starclass (I am a QF Gold Member)

I have tried both the Jetstar (hopeless) and Qantas call centre to get an answer and got conflicting information from both.

My question is, will my luggage be checked through to Kul & can I get a JQ boarding pass in Mel. I did book the two flights seperately with a long connection time. I assume the answer will probably be no, but would like some assistance, even if it is for future flights.

Thanks

Ann

From their website:
"Jetstar does provide limited baggage connectivity between International Flights operated by Jetstar (JQ) and Qantas (QF), and Intra-Asia flights in Singapore operated by Jetstar Asia (3K)/Valuair (VF) where the connection is within acceptable Recommended Connection Times"

Hi Ann,

Given the flights are booked "seperately" the answer should be no, as per the information I've provided below.

If all flights had been on the one booking it would have been possible, indeed, expected.

However, that should not stop you from trying. Call Qantas and get the bookings "linked" by having Qantas insert "Information" segments into your Qantas PNR. Then try checking in at "Domestic cnx to International Counter", they can only say no. (Do not be upset if this happens)

More here:
Qantas (QF) Domestic to: - Jetstar (JQ) International - [1:45 (T2 to T1) or 1:30 (T3 to T1)] - Provided ^^

^^ For baggage to be through checked (transferred) your flights must be in the same booking (ie. Have the same booking reference number).
