With the QF cutbacks on international and domestic flights what other supporting services do you think will close in the foreseeable future. We know the QF Lounge in SIN will be closed in the near future, what will be next, my guess is other international business lounges, QF F lounge (SYD and MEL) then the J domestics lounges. Any thoughts.

Not necessarily :(

There could be further cutbacks in terms of onboard catering for domestic flights, and international flights, when they resume. Some carriers in Asia have cut back cabin crew interaction with passengers by stopping all meals on flights under a couple of hours (only a pre-set bottle of water at the seat on boarding), and serving business class meals all on one tray. Longer flights in economy have been reduced to just a snack bag. Blankets and pillows for short haul international flights could also go.

Joycey better keep his little hands away from my points!
While QF is still flying I'd think you are safe. AJ is probably banking on loyalty/points to give the group even more revenue. Launching Points Club in such difficult times probably points to that in my completely uninformed, humble opinion.

I have read somewhere on here (can't remember threads) of a couple other airlines that have resorted to "paper bag" meals on longer flights and nothing on short/regional flights. Don't see why it will be any different here. They will be doing whatever it takes to protect staff and stay in business through a very difficult period that possibly may last to xmas or later.

The only service changes that QF has made so far is no hot towels in any cabin.

I've not heard of any changes coming to services, but things change so rapidly, so anything is possible. I'll share here if things do change.

‘QF Cutback backs’??

Grammar police on their way ala Minority Report ala Tom Cruise constructing crime scene with images on virtual canvas :)
I am just trying to understand your post as it makes no sense. I can only assume that at some point in time you received an “A” in english and are still living in this world.

You think his/her post was hard to understand, yours is also. Think he/she was just jokingly suggesting people may have a go at you for the 2 backs in your thread title..? Of course given the vibe on this forum currently, who knows...

They may be letting the sheep into the domestic J lounges but I’d expect most of the hot food will stop.

I remember the cutbacks post 9/11, they persisted for years. I hope we aren’t going down that road again.

I feel sorry for you that you can’t recognize an obvious joke (perhaps the smiley face was a giveaway) and then make a personal attack to build your credibility. Good luck Matt_01!

It was not my intention to make a personal attack so if I have come across that way I apologise. Looking at the time I posted and the amount of gin that seems to have gone missing from its bottle I would suggest that I should have not been posting anything last night. :(

Point taken, and thanks for pointing out the thread title, that is my error for not proof reading prior to posting.

The JAL international lounges at HND moved to individually packaged sandwiches and other snacks last month - no hot food. I could see Qantas doing something similar in the Dom J lounge.

What were these cutbacks? Well before my FF days.

We have told you that gin does not prevent coronavirus :)
(Unfortunately)
