Hi
My (Gold) wife & son flew out on the 2.50am flight from BNE to Dubai this morning on QF tickets - we had selected seats weeks ago. When she checked in at airport the seats had been changed to way down the back and was told either (or both) you didnt pay for seats & EK passengers get priority and took your seats.
weve never struck it pre covid. Is this normal ? Is there any recourse with QF or more importantly can we firm up their return flights ? _ i know there is no guarantee.
Also shouldnt Qantas lounge be open for this flight given it is marketed as a QF ? Thanks

I have frequently experienced seat shifting on EK codeshares.
Not a post Covid thing at all unfortunately.

Go onto the EK website to check the seat selection for the return.

The QF lounges are in general open for QF flights. They do not open to suit EK departures and it being a codeshare makes no difference to that.

As Gold status, she should have been able to access the EK lounge, but there might need to have been a chat about access for your son.

And I heartedly agree with Fiona's comments to check their return seats with the EK site or App. So many times have I seen different reserved seats being shown in QF vs. EK apps with the EK ones always being the allocation.
