Hi

I've been looking at QF award bookings for a SIN-Brekenridge (Colorado) trip.

I need a LAX-EGE (part of a SIN-LAX (JAL) and LAX-EGE (AA) rewards booking on the same ticket) and a LAX-DEN booking on the same day (in case I can't take the LAX-EGE as I'm waiting for another passenger to arrive in LAX in time). This means I'll need to either cancel the LAX-EGE final leg or the LAX-DEN on the day. Some queries in case anyone has any experience:
  1. would American Airlines have an issue with the fact that I have a LAX-EGE and LAX-DEN booking on the same day?
  2. does QF refund last minute cancellations (minus the change/cancellation fee)? I'll need to either cancel the LAX-EGE final leg or the LAX-DEN separate reward booking, both probably hours (or minutes) before the flight.

The QFF T&C state 24 hours or more earlier, but in reality YMMV.

However, be prepared to eat the points/$$$ in the worst case.

Agreed - luckily didn't need to take the risk in the end but the QF call operator did say anytime before the flight (when if less than 24 hours) you should get a points refund but agree YMMV
