I haven't seen the news on any QF flight for some weeks now. Does anyone know what is going on?

I don't know, but Channel 9 has just turfed 100 of their news and current affairs employees so perhaps this has something to do with it.

Maybe Eddie will supply Qantas with the Melbourne Footy Show instead of the news, or perhaps re-runs of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Collingwood games.

I may have missed something, but why would there be?

Oh. Now I see - catching mostly PER flights I don't recall the last time I ever saw it.

The Qantas website claims it is still shown:

http://www.qantas.com.au/info/flying/inTheAir/entertainment/main/domestic/index#jump1
"AM - 5am to 1pm
Start your day with the latest news from the Nine Network, followed by our exclusive round-up of the best in art, theatre and sport.

PM - 1pm to 5pm
Tune into a 10-minute update of the latest news and sport, then get some ideas for making the most of your leisure time with The Great Outdoors.

Evening - 5pm to 11pm
Get up to speed with a 10-minute update of news and sport, check out our exclusive 'Airplay' profiles, or chill out with our short films."

Although, I havn't been on a domestic flight for around a month, I know it was on the entertainment then (~7am flight from SYD)

Saw the news early this afternoon as per the first part of "PM - 1pm to 5pm
Tune into a 10-minute update of the latest news and sport, then get some ideas for making the most of your leisure time with The Great Outdoors." as quoted by yada yada.

Didn't have the Great Outdoors however; it was the show "Thank God You're Here" instead.

The news was shown on QF664 Adelaide - Brisbane this afternoon.

News was shown on both QF507 and QF532 last Monday.

By the way, has anyone noticed that the sound for the video monitors on the 767's is like someone talking through a tin can?

Both of my flights were on two different 767's but the same problem occured.

I thought they got rid of the pneumatic headsets ages ago :D
