QF A380 J Seating

Flew 12A to DXB last year and it was outstanding. Didn't notice any noise or disturbance. Can't imagine 13A would've been much different. Emerald City generally seemed to be the best part of the Upper Deck.

Be interested in your thoughts princess, I have 13A selected with my wife for our trip to NYC at Christmas.

I have 13K (I assume will be very similar to 13A) on QF9 in August.. will try take some discrete photos of the seat and surrounds. I dare say it will be an enjoyable flight...

I have 12A on a fullish Emeraldtown later this week ... I'll try to get some images before most PAX arrive by boarding ASAP.

I've got 13K this Sunday, although given it's at the end of the HKG lounge crawl the pictures may be blurry, much like my vision will be :)

Thanks michaele, that would be fantastic.

This is the C bird ...

12A - 1 side storage blocked, see below.

Looking closely, you still need to step over the Aisle PAX when reclined, but, as posted, this is much easier than for Skybed Mk1. The handhold is essential - there is none for row 11.

13A has more storage

I think i have sat in almost every seat now, and whilst 11 would not be my first choice, it is fine but would say avoid all but A/K because of the light coming from both lounge and refreshment stand.

12 is definitely best but 13 no real drop, I prefer A/K on night flights and E/F on day flights

I flew Row 11 a few days ago and it is very difficult to get out of the window seat when the aisle seat is felly reclined. The reason is that your feet go into a little recess in the bulkhead.

I had a look around the cabin and Row 12 is my pick in future!

We had 11E and F SYD to LAX a couple of weeks ago. Didn't have an issue - not having the side bins wasn't an issue - all I need during the flight is a few toiletries, book and reading glasses. Didn't notice any issues from refreshment area or lounge. I tend to put an eye mask on so light wouldn't have been an issue and there was no noise. I had chosen them based on both of us having aisle access, which was good. Definitely would agree that the mini cabin is good.

Main problem with row 11 window seats is there are not the same handholds to assist in getting past the aisle occupant.

I have chosen 11K for a flight in January. I don't think I would need to get up too often but may end up at the bar anyway.

Would 15A be better?

I once had 11K preallocated for around 11½ months - I still had it on boarding but was immediately requested to vacate by the cheif cabin services manager for another passenger who needed the medical power supply that is installed at 11K. Flew in 18A.

Note the "bar" is directly on the otherside of the bulkhead from 11K, but, NB, it's not a "bar" as such - it's an area with one 2 seat 'sofa' and one 3 seat 'sofa' in a line in front of a large Video screen.

15A would be better, but 12/13/A/K even moreso.

Access to the aisle for the Row 11 window occupants is bound be the whims of a their neighboring 11B/J occupant. See Russ' post #30.

I am guessing 15A is exit row/bulkhead.

I am hoping I will get the call to sit in a different cabin. ;)

Yes I did see it which is why I asked.

Got that baby locked in both ways for our honeymoon next month on QF11/12....

Of course, hopeful that our J to F upgrade comes through but I'm sure row 12 will keep the hugs and kisses happy enough!!

13/12 Window seats are definitely the most private. I felt very tucked away in 13K.

15 (and the main UD J Cabin) seems much more open. To be honest, all of the seats are pretty good though.

On that note, a pax from PE decided on boarding to throw his passport and ticket under his seat in 25J and walk up to a spare seat (15J). He causes a pretty big **** storm when they realised and were looking for his passport (and assured them that was his seat...). It was pretty lightly loaded, but im surprised it wasnt picked up until so long into the flight.

Ms Chooms and I have 12EF booked in for QF11 in late September. 11AB are still available, but I thought direct aisle access would be preferred.

That saying, we have an upgrade request to F in so hopefully won't be able to provide a report back :D.

Any more feedback on QF7 / 8 J seating experiences?

Now that QF7/8 is now on an A380, I don't see how different it would be to any other A380 route? ie posted in this thread...
Main difference is the flight time has a longer duration than the others....
