Question on the actual seat configuration placement of seats on the QF 787-9 in Business Class.

if 2 people are travelling together & wish to interact during the flight, which is the better location, the 2 centre seats E & F, or a centre & window, across aisle situation ? It appears that the corresponding window seats in each row are set back a distance from the corresponding row number in the centre, potentially making across aisle interaction difficult?
But what’s the arrangement in the E & F combination, especially regarding any central fixed barrier for privacy.
Recommendations & feedback appreciated.

Welcome to AFF.

Go for the middle pair as the divider is retractable.

The window seats (particularly the ones flush against the wall) are very private - so either way if you did aisle + window you're going to barely see the other person and those walls aren't retractable.

Definitely the middle two as above.

Going to different destinations
Not quite that bad, Mrs&MissM travel on points I tend to travel on revenue flights. If there are SQ miles to be used they fly SQ, if I need the elite miles I travel with them, if I need SCs I will travel with QF/ OW. If we are all travelling on points I find it quite easy to get x2 J or F seats on most airlines we use and if we cannot get 3 I will travel separately. On a couple of occasions I have been traveling for work and they would just meet me there or I would have stayed back. We do not always travel like this and to some it may sound odd but it works for us.

However, some married couples prefer the A and K seats. 😉
We've flown the 787 from LHR-PER-MEL-SFO and back and have chosen 3A and 3K.

I'm left-handed so take 3K as I'm against the window with my mini-table to my left.
MrsC is right-handes so takes 3A for the same/opposite reason as these seats are mirror-image.
As an aside we found the CX and AY A350s quieter and more comfortable than the 787 and the cabin seemed more spacious - but what the hell, I just want to get on a plane, any plane (as long as it's up the front).

EDIT: I did review the 787 - see link in sig. Some of the pax may have made sitting next to thenm in Y "uncomfortable".
