I suspect they have decided to sell First on these flights Next summer:
Now just need some Z availability to open and it's all good.
It was. At least when I reported it. It was wide open with 9 Zs for each flight in mid December. Not sure now.
Ummm ... Z on Qantas is PE reward. Now just need some Z availability to open and it's all good.
I notices that as well ... W9 R0 T0 = no discount PE. Z is 0 too ...Interesting that QF only wants to sell the most expensive Premium Y seats, but the other cabins have a selection.

P9 is a fascinating number!
ah, sorry, i thought z was the first award. Obviously i have no idea about qf fare codes. It was wide open for first awards, whatever that code is (?).

I wonder if this suggests a more permanent usage of the A380 on this sector (given suggestions re MEL-LHR services)
I didn't see it mentioned in other threads, but QF will be upgrading SYD-HKG (QF127/128) to an A380 for most of April 2017. I have 2 flights to HKG booked in PE during that month so a nice chance to sit in the F cabin for a 25K points upgrade from PE!
Unless you're P1, by the time the PE to J upgrade comes through, chances are, most of the F seats would've been taken. Having said that, you could be lucky. I was on one of those flights last year. Preselected 1A and QF changed a/c to A380 and retained my seat. Was surprised to find some empty seats in F despite the J upstairs being quite full.
