I'm transiting through SIN tonight on QF2, and I was thinking of heading to the BA Lounge as a WP, maybe I should stick my nose into the EK Lounge to see what it's like. I'll report back

On QF 36 a few weeks, QF lounge was already rather busy, and came noticeably busier upon QF2's arrival. EK lounge only started getting busier (from 10 to 20% occupancy!) shortly before I left. In EK lounge, enjoyed some champagne and for eating, the steak was quite good ( for lounge food) and desserts were also good.

Not sure about "generally regarded" but I find the BA lounge far better than the QF offering.
Report from this afternoon - Qantas Lounge very full, people being directed to SATS Lounge.
I'm currently in the BA Lounge for the first time; it's quite nice. I'd put it on par with the Qantas Lounge - and it's a lot quieter.

Although we can use the Concorde bar and are given the code we actually prefer the BA lounge proper.but if too many rowdy QF WPs start complaining we might consider retreating to the quiet.Too dark though.

I'd never complain - well maybe I would about complainers

That SATS lounge is terrible.

That SATS lounge is terrible.

It's inferior, that's for sure. But terrible is probably a bit strong. It lacks the design element of most modern lounges (if that's important) , but otherwise is passable. I've only been in the SATS lounge for breakfast time departures, but at that time it had a decent spread and comfortable enough seats - FWIW I'd rate it better than the QF intl J lounge at MEL.

I had some amazing Pork Bao's - went back for thirds they were that good - had a seat at the big dining table and although it got busier after I arrived it was a pleasant enough experience and better than many other lounges I've been in around the world.

What is it people dislike about it?!

maybe someone in the QF SIN lounge remembers that the BA lounge used to be the QF/BA F lounge.

I'm transiting through SIN with QF1 in F in a few weeks.

I assume I won't have the same issues as most of the Australian bound QF flights would have departed by the time QF1 lands in SIN around 22:05?

Welcome to AFF spindoc. :)

You would hope not, but QF1 may itself bring a lot of people into the lounge.

Come back and let us know what happens, please.

Correct the only other QF flight departing is QF38 - A330 to MEL. Probably get a handful of codeshare, BA, JL and AY pax but nothing like the early evening where there are 2x A380s + 2 A330s and early arrivers for the late flights.

I love the SIN qantas lounge and those Bao are great.

It’s the SATS lounge i was referring to as garbage.

When I went through two weeks ago on QF1, the Qantas Lounge was less than a third full at a guess and very pleasant. You shouldn't have any issues.

Some Canberra friends mentioned tonight they were despatched to SATS (4 PAX in the party including 2 teenage boys). They quite enjoyed it.

Compare the pair
Qantas Singapore Lounge: a dash of luxe for Lion City travellers

New SATS T1 Premier Lounge, Singapore: Changi Airport's best Priority Pass lounge?

Now SATS do all the on ground and inflight catering for Qantas
Airline - SATS So I am wondering if perception trumps reality . I take that QF own lounge one would expect would be swisher.

Also, since it’s now October, is the peak demand of running the A380s up to SQ Finished?
