QC Members to be redirected at SIN

The disaster that is the Singapore Lounge situation continues to worsen.

Qantas Club Members to be redirected to SATS during peak periods and until September according to Australian Business Traveller.

Just to correct this initial post: it’s not just during peak periods, it’s whenever the lounge is open (according to QF) - although one suspects if a QC member arrived during a quiet time and was leaving not long after, asking nicely at the front desk may see entry allowed.

Will be at Singapore the following week so not really looking forward to the overcrowded lounges.

Was there on Monday night (flying MH, left the lounge at 18:55) and it was crowded but not overcrowded - but there were empty seats side beside me at the table and when I adjourned to the more comfortable seating still quite a few empty pairs of seats (facing each other).

Any guesses what the two ala carte itmea were?

Beef noodle soup and BBQ pork with rice?

Not a rumour, it was a statement issued to us by Qantas, which is also the provenance of the QF spokesperson quotes in that article.

I may have missed it but where is/was the QF statement that was issued/sent to their actual paying customers....

No idea, as we received a media statement, but I'd expect that if a statement was shared with members it'll be buried towards the bottom of a Qantas Frequent Flyer member newsletter and probably titled "Enhancing the Singapore lounge experience for Qantas Club members" :p

The sooner QF rebuild a SIN F lounge the better.

At least for WP's, OWE's and F pax. I suspect SG's, J pax and QP members will have a degraded experience once that happens. No more bar service and no doubt degraded catering.

My 2c is that we will see an extended lounge, with the extra space allowing creation of a dedicated area for F/CL (likely WP/OWE also, as that's the norm with QF, but it doesn't have to be that way) – perhaps a First 'wing' – but maintaining same service as current for J and down. The First 'room' wouldn't need to be in the new space, that could easily just extend general space while the new First facility could be carved out pretty much anywhere.
