I don't think it would have matter what the flight number was.So an EK flight number (marketed) and/or EK operated ? Who booked through is irelevant
You would have throught so too. I was also very curious as to why the QC would possibly be closed at 6:30pm in a major airport like MEL. Seems to be a case of "Hey - 1952 called and they want their business practices back!" But it seems to be too difficult for the biggest airline in the country to keep a Lounge open long enough to take care of their codeshare passengers. I don't think its unreasonable to expect the QC to be open at 630pm in Melbourne.......![]()
Not sure about access for QF codeshare passengers travelling on FJ.
That would be 'nice' .. since QP members have been royally screwed in relation to European lounge access by the end of the JSA with BA and the takeover by EK.

by Qantas club I'd assume you mean the business lounge.Just confirming that the MEL T2 Qantas Club is now open until 2130 (or when EK407 departs).

I guess the Flounge will still close after QF133.
TBH, if I were SG I'd still use the EK lounge if I had a choice.
Half right. The lack of lounge access has nothing to do with what you incorrectly refer to as the EK take over. The problems with BA started long before that happened. Who knows it may well have been BA's inability to play ball that lead Qantas to EK.
One person's "enhancement" is another person's "takeover".
For the record I never saw any of BA's apparent hard-balling in the last few years of the JSA. Never refused entry to a lounge at LHR T5 or on the continent even when I did not satisfy the supposed "new rules" (same day connection from Asia inbound/outbound to Europe). The only annoyance was lack of admission to the "third party" lounges BA used in some euro ports. Others' mileage may have varied.
And prior to that I had been in most of BA's lounges all over the continent for 20 years.
Regardless, indeed the EK deal may well have been precipitated by BA. Would be nice if some real insiders would tell the story here.
In any case, the value of QP has been undermined by QF's failure to achieve maintenance of member privileges after the EK deal. If they can now achieve those privileges again by negotiating with airlines other than their supposed partner , that would be "nice".
if you read these very pages you will find some good threads about lounge access in Europe for Qantas Club members and the stop, negotiations and work arounds (ie only allowing access when coming on connecting flights etc).
As a Qantas Customer, I shouldn't need to read the (unauthorised) pages on a Forum to understand what Qantas are offering as part of the blingy-new world of the QF-EK Partnership, Qantas themselves should be transparent. Unfortunately, the breathless excitement of the banner headlines is often less substantial when you read/experience the detail - unfortunately this seems to be an emerging trend at QF.
My comment to read these boards was aimed at an individual (not you) who is making the false statement that the lack of QC access in BA lounges was as a direct result of the EK-QF alliance. He was also denying there were issues before this alliance. A read of the threads I am refering to will refute these claims, authorised or otherwise.
