Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

Woohoo, got extended as well. Now to figure out how to use Qatar gold privileges whilst flying JAL on a Qantas classic rewards flight.

I can’t seem to add the Qatar member number to the booking via either the JAL or Qantas websites.

Any ideas?

On the app go to your details press on your card and then save updated card to your wallet
 
Got an email too.
Will be interesting if they add another three months after March.
I've got four QR reward flights from end April to last week of May.
I've paid for Al Maha services after landing from first trip in economy.
First time in Doha.
It's free for Gold members so I guess I would be asking for refund.
Also chose business rewards seats on other three flights for free but paid $500 for upstairs economy on A380.
I assume as a Gold member I would get that back as well.
Hoping for one last three month extension after this latest one.

thanks, yeah, I know about that part.But even on Qatar's website nothing has updated - so far the only thing I have with an 2024 expiry date is the email. I guess we'll see what happens in 8.5 hours
 
Received an extension (platinum) to end of March this morning, no email. Mostly flew Qantas and JAL this year (not enough to requalify).
 
I got extended as well. I flew Qatar on a Virgin Awards ( Y) in December 2023 , but changed the FF to Qatar to be able to select seats for free. I was pleasantly surprised in Y ( Economy) when the FA came to me onboarding to welcome me back personally and take my meal prefrence. First time that happend to me as a gold on any airline in economy! Makes it worthwhile to get gold with them. Also the new North Gold/ Platinum lounge in Doha is really good! They have showers, do table service and champagne and wasn’t overcrowded in the peak! The samon tartare and Lanson champagne went down a treat!

link the cards and stay 1 night then you get it.

If you have QR platinum it'll bump you to Accor ALL Gold, for the remainder of that year and the next - so if you can do it now, that'd be perfect. Unfortunately mine was at the end of '22 so I've just dropped off gold and soft landing back to silver for the rest of this year.

I have linked my QR Platinum to my accor to hopefully get Gold. Can it be a hotel in Australia (it says International overnight stay?)

sorry i couldn't say for certain, I had a few stays while I was in France so it triggered there - I don't know if home country will work.
 

Perhaps the free renewals are coming to an end? I've used my benefits a tiny bit but never credited anything to them, now I see to get a soft landing one needs to earn or redeem something:
In case you haven’t quite reached the minimum number of Qpoints – but you've collected or spent Avios or purchased Qpoints at least once in the past 24 months** – your tier will move to the tier status below, e.g. if you are currently Platinum you will become Gold.

Didn't realise until I read this that I needed some activity to fall to the tier below. It looks like you can buy a single Qpoint for 25 USD which I think would satisfy the criteria.
