Qatar Airways Business & First Class meals

I'm hoping the food onboard is better than the lounge (LHR T4 Premium Lounge). Absolutely abysmal, microwaved at best, room temp at worst. Also, even though each ingredient is 'plated' one at a time, no, sorry, can't do that for 'dish customisation' e.g., not putting a sauce on it. Very odd.

This is disappointing. The design in the QR lounges is beautiful. The only time I used the LHR one, I was extremely hungover and just drank ginger ale so I can't comment on the food. But I had à la carte dining at the CDG lounge a few months ago and it was lovely. (BKK was also lovely but my delayed inbound flight meant no time to dine before they closed.)

BKK is reasonable, but the service can be hit or miss. The food at LHR is like slop in comparison. Maybe didn't want to be seen to outdo BA over at T5 😜

I wonder if it was an off day in the lounge? I've been through the LHR QR lounge twice (although not in the last 12 months) and both times the food was excellent.

Each time I've been through LHR it's been pretty poor, they're usually out of the sushi too.

The fish always tends to be the exact same one that is out on the buffet.....

Last week

ADL DOH I paid and it was almost useless

DOH LHR said you got an hour free but never cut off and it was great

Does anyone have a recent wine list for J, ideally ex Australia?
I can post the list TO Aus from 1.5 weeks ago, however, if you can wait a week I can do Ex Aus also. It was different to the London flight, so I think it'd be the same given what it had. Seemed pretty solid.

Happy for for both

QR943 SIN-DOH. Dates and Arabic coffee before take-off @Flashback - must be Business standard now. Also PDBs of Champagne (Joseph Perrier) etc.

Wine list on request, but takes too many images for routine.

Amuse bouche of smoked salmon

Entree of seared tuna on avocado

Main of lobster.

Possibly would have been better as medallions, but who's complaining? (except VPS  - or rather, declining)

Honestly, First Class on many airlines.

QR37 DOH-CDG Arabic coffee and dates on boarding, together with PDBs from Champagne down.

No menu photographs (:rolleyes::oops:)

Amuse bouchée of pureed potato something

I asked for caviar as entrée, but they had run out . That's it! I'm flying Qantas next time! 😂. SO it was more lobster (sigh). Enough there for a main; a nice Riesling to go with it.

Main of Angas fillet. A bit overdone for me, but tender with some juice, matched with a nice Bordeaux. Poor old broccoli another in-flight fail.

Dessert - fresh berries and cream

Entirely satisfied.

Has anyone covered the Orchard Al Mourjan Lounge at DOH? Amazing, as might be expected.

Huge - wraps 2/3 around the Orchard greenery. One wing with casual seating, nibbles, showers, spa, gym etc. Other wind of dining - a la carte or buffets; several bars. Very quiet in the early afternoon.

Ordinary seating wing - showers, spa etc off to the side

Dining wing from aby 2/3 way down; another spa.

Leaves any other home-port business lounge I've been in, for dead.

Yep, we'll be there in 4 hours or so once we escape AMM ....... I find the seating is often v. quiet, but go around the corner where the food is and it's usually pretty busy.

Deli menu for me, managed to nab one of the quiet "room" things out the back of the deli area, so Mrs FB is sleeping. Not sure why I'm eating though.... haven't stopped for 24 hours, must have put on a few kg 🤭

Although it felt like cabbage rather than lettuce...
