I’m not sure they have, I instinctively looked at AFF#5 dates from BNE to CBR and found fares for $131 direct, to $139 via SYD, yet the fares page suggests these should be $162. Not the cheapest they’ve been on sale, but not bad…
I dont think
The $131 is the E class fare and the 162 is the O class fares.
I know QF fares allow travel via Syd to CBR so the slight diff between non stop and via may be SYD apt taxes??
No idea why the QF.com bulletinboard offers the O class when the E class is a year round fare.
A check ex SYD shows E class fares on the fare board as the cheapest...who knows why

Qantas stuffed up again this arvo, ended up getting CNS/BNE 24 July
for $139.00 plus plus. Now it's back to $251.00 for the same flight.
Nearly booked the Virgin equivalent as school holidays are always a gamble.

QF have a domestic school holidays sale, first time I have seen that mid year.

Aye - since I am a few SC shy of Silver - I am doing a day trip to Rocky $6.80 per SC is OK for a domestic day trip I guess.

Certainly the first school holiday sale I have seen at this time of the year. Loads must be poor.

Anyway could not have come at a better time as I was about to book Tiger but for a few dollars more I will now book QF.

Stop the presses! :D

Stop the presses! :D
Why? It had to happen eventually.

If I can avoid paying $117 each way for SYD-BNE then my stubborness can go out the window.

I was even considering flying Jetstar after seeing some of their airfares in July! But then sanity prevailed and these sales were announced. :p ;)

Oh look.
Another Thursday and another sale.
Does anyone even buy at full price anymore?

Been to a shopping centre lately? Everything is on sale. Permanently.

Ridiculous, but consumer sentiment is still patchy... They think sale is the only way to get the punters in.

That red burberry bag I want isn't on sale... #justsaying
But lucky for me there is another sale.
Just booked a weekend away in Mackay... I assume there is something to do there. but at 3.60 per SC why not?

QANTAS "Taste of Australia" sale

I had been umming and ahhing about a trip to Coffs Harbour for the World Rally Championship this September. Qantas would set me back $270 or 16,000 points plus $70. Virgin were about the same (when you included baggage) or 13,800 points plus $75. My friends had already booked Qantas but I had just the right Velocity points to knock $200 off and the schedules were almost identical.

It was driving me nuts until I logged on 15 minuntes ago and Qantas had dropped the price to $55 each way. Geronimo!!!!

And I can't be arrsed working out the $ per SC because I don't do status runs ... but I'm sure it's good.

Oh bugger. Booked a flight just in the last sale less than a week ago and now it's $10 cheaper. I really should cancel and rebook shouldn't I? ;)

SYD-BNE sales seem very erratic, to the point it seems if may be an error.

Last week I had been looking for cheap Y Fares for Mid Aug, $117, almost decided to fly Virgin. Wed night from out of blue $85 sale fare appear, with sale ending that night WTF? So I booked :)

Next day fares back to $117. Today I see another sudden sale for $89.
Very strange patterns.

I don't know about other flights during the day but my usual SYD-BNE flights and return have had very low loads in recent times. Last Monday night SYD-BNE there were only 119 on board a 767.

First time I have seen specials for travel in July and so far this year I have not had to pay for a single non-sale airfare SYD-BNE through to December 2011 where I have a flight on Christmas Eve. The rest of my flights have been $75, $79, $85 and $89.

Would love to see a special for BNE-CNS end of July. No big deal though as I have 2 free nights courtesy of Priority Club. ;)
