Re: Summer Sale

Seems to be Nov 15-Dec 15 only. More info to follow but its up on the home page.

Not much of a sale, no SYD-ADL which is what I needed. I guess I will use my free Amex QF flight instead.

More of a price "enhancement" rather than a sale.

BNE-MEL $125 vs regular $139. Gee thanks a lot QF.

I won't hold out much hope of that now. Unlike earlier in the year where progressive sales the finishing date would creep closer to the school holidays, the last 3 or 4 sales with SYD-ADL have remained fixed on an 8 December cut off. This on as well for the routes from ADL.

However, there is ADL-CBR for $119. That might be good picking up a mini status top up via MEL or maybe SYD.

A sale is anything where the price has been discounted, as opposed to a bargain. I would consider the DRW pricing a bargain during the current "sale".

Whilst not disputing it's technically "on sale", it's far from overwhelming. Which makes you wonder that they're trying to trick buyers who arent familiar with QF's prices into thinking they've got a great deal.

Perhaps they're taking a leaf from supermarkets where the proliferation of tags of "everyday low price" and "reduced" (by 5c) fools people into purchasing items thinking they're bargains.

Buyer beware I guess, but it's certainly misleading.

Those fares might look like sale fares or even bargains if QF decide to jack up the normal fares in the future, just like the stock market past performance is no indication of future performance. While we have seen better fares before, perhaps they are now history!

Sale prices tend to be more keen when they are several months into the future. This sale is for flights next month (and they seem to have changed the dates somewhere along the way), so not really unexpected that the be less than stunning prices.

Hmmm. This time a good sale but coming at a bad time in my current condition. :(

There are a couple I could be interested in come March, just from a re-qual POV. But nothing amazing and no where I want to go :p

Note that DRW is on sale for OzFest for $179 ex BNE, seems to be unpublished.

Sounds good but do I really want to go to Ozfest in DRW and will I still be in BNE in May? Tough questions.

Perhaps this sale isn’t for you then.

The only flight I have booked for OzFest is an F lounge run the Thursday before :D

Thats the gamble I suppose, not often you get dry season airfares for that money.
