One year under the belt and punting on a comp

I could take the same sort of punt....have been WP for 8 years and have achieved sufficient SC over the past three years to count for 4 WP years - will I get comped? Having already received one of these - I'm not willing to chance it.

These posts make me sick.... Freeloaders! Just earn the SC! It's really not hard...
A 'miss' is a 'miss'.... Sorry buddy but you missed the mark, fell short, wasn't good enough, etc etc etc.

End of whinge...lol

Sure rules are rules, but if the OP had no DSC in there they might feel left out where a DSC earner may have done less flying (thus less valuable) and now has higher status than the OP.

Its well known qantas look at t-3 years, if your average SCs exceed retain its a no brainer.

OOoohhh, hope you're right here. Due to changes in employment I have done bugger all this year but have approx 4000 for the last 3 years.

It was a gem dropped at the last Rockpool event by QFF, and makes a lot of sense. I have been comped SG in the past on less than 100 SCs.

Didn't know it was more than a one trick pony!

Do you have first hand experience it will occur more than once?

With due respect - so what! It took 16 years before I got a DSC....have been a member for 18 years.

All members were offered DSC when TESNA surfaced early this century, so the wait was not that long.

Yes, the once only comp is a myth, it's all down to three years of earn averaged.

Cool. Nice option to go and earn with another OW carrier given a year free pass

Been a member since 1996 and the first offer I received was 2012. I wouldn't call 2012 early this century!

Everybody got the TESNA offer, March 2001 from memory, certainly early this century

That nice - SC's were not part of QFF until the 2000's - "Tier Credits" were introduced in late 1998 though.

I rarely can use the DSC ofers these days as my bookings for the Qual period are generally already set by the time they are offerred.

I just posted I didn't receive one - so not everyone;)

It was feb 2002 (just checked) and as I said offered to everybody in the newsletter, you must of overlooked it. Targeted campaigns came a few years later.

Would be interesting to see the newsletter. Can you post a link?

The OP knew about the MASA option and choose not to use it, so I find no reason to complain about the loss of status.

more importantly they thought it wasn't worth it...that is the highest risk for QF at present, loyalty being replaced by indifference

Agreed. Just burnt another 152,000 points to go with the other 522,000 I've already ditched in the past 8 weeks. None of them on MASA!

I achieved Platinum with exactly 1,400 SCs.

The next year ~8 weeks before anniversary I was comped although I made 1,200 SCs exactly by anniversary. The next year I was comped again ~8 weeks before anniversary but I made the 1,200 SCs again.

I have made Platinum easily well before my anniversary so have not been comped again. Will I get one if I miss out? Who knows but I will certainly hope I get comped and post about it on AFF.
