Qantas Wine latest offering

Feel free to post a link ;)

I PMed you just to check the post is suitable as we are getting further and further away from topic.

edit: Turns out I don't have the required number of posts to post a link yet.

This was the specific 2010 Mount Langi Ghiran Cliff Edge Shiraz deal posted on their facebook page (you don't see the deals unless you sign-up for a account when you go to their page directly, but the facebook link bypasses it and allows you to see the offer):
Beat your inboxes friends... the BEST Black Market Deal ever is now live on site. 94pt, 5 Star, $10 Shiraz. THIS.WILL.SELL.OUT.

(Link missing as I don't have the required number of posts to post a link yet!)

Not surprisingly, the deal sold out. They post these "secret deals" on their facebook page frequently (twitter/email too if that's what you prefer) and they give you enough information to work out what the wine is (I've been 100% correct on all the secret deals I've bought from them so far, n=6).

I PMed Markis10 for the specific links and he can verify them. Otherwise google for vinomofo to find this online retailer.

I went to look at the website/subscribe, and when I had to enter my age the default year was 1979. I like them already.

The Vinomofo link.

I was going to say, this all sounds a lot like Vinomofo... which isn't that much of a "secret".... however if anyone is feeling generous you can PM me your email address and I can refer you and get credit in my account :p

I have used Vinomofo extensively, and agree that they provide excellent value for money.

Vinomofo is often the cheapest way to buy wine (especially for me as I don't pay postage on Vinomofo). However sometimes the cost is similar, or more expensive on Vinomofo... Remember that Dan Murphys, Epiqure & Cellarmasters all have other incentives / discounts / bonus points / etc, that Vinomofo doesn't have. As such sometimes I would pay a small price premium if I think the bonus is worth it. If not, I go with the cheapest. This varies from wine to wine and deal to deal.

The "secret" and the bargains are usually the wines for which they don't post the names of but give you enough information to work out what they are. The named wines aren't priced too different from Dan Murphy's and other retailers. I, like you, just buy where ever is cheapest and/or has the best incentive.

The last "black market" deal (just a fancy name they use) is a pretty good bargain if my guess is correct. I think it is the Carnival of Love 2010 from MollyDooker which sells for a lot more than the $29/bottle vinomofo was asking (the cheapest I found for this was ~$66 direct from producer). I ordered a case from vinomofo so I can confirm when it arrives later in the week XD

Oh yeah, I'd also be grateful for anyone that wants to fund my wine habit with a vinomofo referral!

/edit: case arrived today and I can confirm it is The MollyDooker Carnival of Love 2010 :D

Thanks Princess Fiona, quick off the mark this time and have a dozen of the Mt Langi 2010 coming to me for $251 with 2K bonus points as well (from this link).
The Mt Langi dozen arrived today, so I did a mix and match with the 5 other half dozens I have. Now I have 6 cases with each containing:

Willunga 2010 100 Pinot Gris
Devils Lair 2007 The Hidden Cave Chardonnay
Yering Station 2007 Shiraz Voigner
Mt Langi 2010 Cliff Edge Shiraz
Seppelt 2007 Moyston Cab Shiraz
Mule 2010 Gateway Shiraz

Some going to clients - one going home with me tonight.

Could be the way of the future, was speaking to customer service about the missing festive dozen from 4 weeks ago that has been broken twice in transit, apparently they have new 15 bottle capacity boxes which will solve my issue where the 13th is stuffed in across the top of the others!
One of my 6 cases (which included a bonus 7th bottle of Wolf Blass 2005 Cab Sauv Shiraz), came in a 12 case - with the 6 case lying sidewise on the bottom and the Wolf Blass in an Epicure single bottle case lying on top. A much better way to package them.

Now for case of 12 plus bonus bottle - sounds like a different story. Look forward to seeing the 15 bottle box (like the Cellarmasters one perhaps??)

Double points for $250+ purchases, this usually happens after I've been told not to order any more wine by SWMBO

Plus - the pricing for this lot looks quite good. S&S SB is cheaper than DMs (at last). Just bought a case.:)

Nice special on the Xanadu wine that Mrs Nick wants me to get especially with the double point offer. Maybe a couple of reds I might look at as well. Thinking that I should join up one of the Nick junior accounts to also try and get the 10K bonus for first timers

Does anyone know of a free code around at the moment to join up with?

GIFT59AW may work, costs $59 but includes a free bottle of Taittinger. That said I don't have this months "Australian Way" and last months suggested the code would expire 1st August, but it's done that all year.

Much appreciated and have just joined up successfully. Much to my horror however, the 2008 Xanadu no longer listed under the Sale section and the 2009 vintage listed but out of stock.

It was there this morning so bad timing on my part

Just confirming its in the mag as current.

Had the Yering Shiraz Viognier 2007 onboard QF51 Saturday in PE, had to choose between that and a Vasse Felix (cannot remember what version, think it was the classic dry) and have to say I only had one glass of the Vasse (first world problem I know) and went back to the Yering, enjoyed it so much that I could only manage water at the SIN QP while waiting for my connection - yum yum.
