Qantas Very disappointing - Tier upgrade

I had a similar issue when I first hit WP. It was around the time that they launched Qantas Cash and everyone was getting sent the replacement cards as part of the rollout. I received my replacement card, but not the pack, so had to call up and get them to send it. Something about the sending of the other card had meant the WP welcome pack wasn't processed automatically. I hope your Gold pack turns up when it's due.

Thanks rugby, I phoned back to let them know that this has happened to another customer and they have acknowledged it is possible and have issued a new WP.

Appreciate all your help.
 
....On top of this I am waiting for a response from a complaint I laid about paying for a seat JHB-SYD that I never received - anytime soon would be good QANTAS....Very disappointing service after many years of loyal support I am getting a little frustrated to say the least.

You may be waiting a fair while. I would estimate that it will be about 50 years before Qantas fly to JHB - unless something dramatic happens in Indonesia. I hate to imagine what your frustration levels will be by then!!

But please at least be a little sensitive to those poor QF staff who have to investigate your problem with a trip from an airport they would understandably never have heard of.

Gee Juddles bit harsh and sarcastic maybe the OP is not as familiar with airport codes as others on here........
 
The Silver package is underwhealming, or was a few years back when I hit it. The lounge pass is included on the same page as the "Welcome to Silver, you're important to us blah blah blah" and it's down the bottom as a tear off kind of sticky panel thing (or again, was... it's been about 3-4 years since I was PS). It *could* be easily missed if one isn't paying attention i guess.

However it does sound like just the (applied for) card for Qantas Cash showed up. Probably what happened is you applied at the same time as the system registered your status. QC issued the new card which showed up. *maybe* the part of the QF system that issues the new packs already saw a card had been issued, so perhaps decided no you already got a membership credentials pack (with bag tags, pass, etc). I could see something like that happening.

Either way it's not really important how it happened but it did.

if ph support are no help, maybe try an email to [email protected] detailing events? it may be easier to resolve that way.

JHB is located in Malaysia. It has a 3.8km runway, and well capable as an emergency alternate should SIN be unavailable.

gjmortimer might not be as clever as you are with airport codes juddles, but is definitely better with HTML codes.

Meh! It's not Syd that would be confusing to most Qantas staff.

Doesn't the lounge access card come with the bag tags? I thought that's how it used to work.

Good call, for coming here onto AFF and coming to vent because at least there is a representative here that can look into the situation and make sure the internal complaints process are followed - sometimes your matter gets expedited (for whatever reasons) and reach resolution quickly. I will remind all my family and friends to come here to vent should they encounter a Qantas issue, assuming they choose to fly Qantas in the first place which is very rare nowadays.

It is every one's right to post here to vent their frustration at an issue. I have done that many times. I did not like OP's post, but it was a valid expression of their outrage. And I jumped on it. I apologize.

I also try, when quoting previous posts, to clip them to the relevant part. So other readers don't have to trawl through the same post time and again. I fluffed that. Sorry :(

And as Awesome Andy pointed out, my smartarse reference to the airport code being Indonesia and not the obvious was in fact incorrect!! More fool me :(
