Are my assumptions below correct?

If using QFF# on flights, you may use QF Points for an Upgrade Request
Marketed By | Operated By
Qantas (QF Metal)
American Airlines (AA Metal)
QF (QF Flight#)
Yes Classic Upgrade
No
AA (AA Flight#)
No
Yes Partner Upgrade

Yes, but they’re not good value.

There’s a specific thread here re AA <-> QF upgrades.

A paid upgrade via the AA app / website might actually a better option - depending on what sort route / upgrade you’re after.

Yes, but there’s yet another thread specific on AA/QF with some info on points required etc

The table above was to check my understanding. So if you're on a AA ticket Codeshare flight that's operated by Qantas, you can't use the Qantas Upgrade path, nor will AA offer you an upgrade path using QF points either?
