Serously, the time has come for the "you could do this, or try this, or may this plan of action..." its dead
!. unless you are emerald, you get bugger all- no access to award bookings ( for more than one pax) club this, green that, ponits plus this. The airlines win, thier AI models out manouvre anything you can come up with. Ok, VA is cheaper and with QF flyers dont wear moccasins as often. All programs suck. If you drink 400 bottles of wine a year, you may get a cattle seat to Sydney, big deal. Points - go for it!

So then you need to out manoeuvre!

I don’t spend any money to accrue points… as in I don’t select one product over another simply because it earns points. I choose the best value.

That means any points I have are purely incidental. In terms of redemption, Inuse them either for high value domestic (easy to get) or for the annual trip to europe.

Not having spent any money to accrue them means you don’t get disappointed!

The FAQ states Changes to Status Credit retain targets will come into effect later in 2027. We will keep you informed with further updates in late 2026.

I guess they wanted to announce it, but the IT changes needed to make it work weren’t ready, maybe not even started to be worked on, so they needed to give enough wiggle room to fill in the detail later.

Some of those changes are already in your activity statement online. The “Category” lists now have a column for SCs earned (I assume for future SCs earned on the ground).

Alas, they enhanced away the ability to “Print” your statement…

Not quite, it's people who have membership years that start before the changes - if they can qualify before the cut off date (yet to be announced), they will keep the benefits until 2028.

Anybody with a current PC membership today has it until at least 2027, and if they requalify they'll get it an extra year to 2028. This is completely normal and not a special gift from QF. This is how most annual status programs work - it just sounds a long way until the future, but if this was an ongoing program you'd have to requalify in 2027 to extend it another year to 2029.

Hmmm, maybe Qantas has started it changes before they have announced the actual end date to the program....... Mrs GrahamBRI rolled over on August 1st, has acquired over 40K points on the ground (showing in her Qantas account statement) ...... Points Club progress sitting on zero, showing zero points aquired........
