Qantas unveils the biggest changes to status in program history

When will Points Club be removed and what about the status we earned from it once it’s removed?
To be retired at the end of this year (current timeline).

But those of us who will have requalified before then will still have PC benefits until our membership year rolls over again. eg I should still have PC/PC+ until 31 July 2027.

We don’t know for sure if for example, I went to town on QF Wine in August this year, and requalified again, would that continue to extend my PC until end of July 2028.

So if I attempt to earn Points Club next year then it’s not possible?

Next calendar year? Probably not.

Depending on when your Member year rolls over - you potentially can have PC for a fair bit of 2027.

Membership rolls over end of December. Hence wanted to try and get it beginning of next year to get two years out of it.

Probably unlikely - unless they delay the changes.

But at least you’ll have it for all of 2027 (assuming you have or will requal before the announcements).

As a WP with PC status which has never delivered any benefits I am curious - what PC/PC+ benefits do other WPs actually use?

ET reports today that “Qantas has qualified that Points Club members who reach or retain that tier before the axe falls will continue to enjoy their benefits through their current membership year and until the end of their next membership year”. So depending on your dates, you may have PC benefits for a while.

Earn SCs on CRs is the biggie and available with base PC.

Other bonus points earn on QF Hotels etc. Wine and Hotel vouchers.

The 100 SCs rollover with PC+ is nice, but the comp QP is useless for me as WP/LTG.

Oh might have to start applying for those credit cards then. Thanks!

Similar to the other replies (base PC):
- Earning SCs on CRs is nice, and has got me to retaining status
- Bonus points on wine
- Wine/hotel vouchers
- Lounge passes have been very useful. Not so much when my next 2 arrive the exact same day they become useless 😢

That is a reconfirmation of the existing wording on the Qantas site…. So it offers no more definitive clarity that what has already been advised. There, are many inconsistencies with the other wordings on the Qantas site that waters down any clarity this supposedly provides. Of specific note; “Vouchers and Lounge Invitations that are issued before the retirement date will remain valid per the current Terms and Conditions.” and put that with the notification; “Points Club and Green Tier will be retiring in late 2026”.
So if the program retires in Nov 26, and you achieve the requirements of points club in Aug 26 (and your membership year starts July 1st) - based on this word in you won’t get the vouchers as the program will have ended before they are due to get issued……..
We are way past the “plenty of notice” period if the impacts are not clearly stated, and re-stating a vague statement, while maintaining other contradictory info, does not help!!!

It’s probably only grey / murky for someone whose status year rolls over on or around the time of the announcement late this year. eg if the details come out in November this year, anyone with a member anniversary date prior to 01 November should maintain their PC “status” to the end of their membership year in 2027. So things like bonus points and SCs earn ought to tick along.

They should also have received their new vouchers with 12 mths expiry.
