Hey all,

It was an absolute pleasure meeting you all. I had a really awesome day. Given that I have have flown F on the A380 several times, and been given a tour by a CSM mate of mine, I wasn't sure it would be all that interesting, but the company certainly was and the tour was impressive! Very well organised, kudos to QF.

Carrie Bickmore was delightful, and clearly they take their social media seriously given that Olivia Worth, the head of Frequent Flyer and other senior staff were on hand at lunch to talk to us.

Shame about the 3rd complimentary Epiqure membership I have now received ;)

That was great fun, planked on a the wheels, licked the engine and sat in the coughpit. Was great to see the new layout too. I rather liked it!

Was a fantastic day, Jay and Michael and all the team were really "into it" as much as we were.
Great to meet Jesse Greg Roland and Chris,
cheers
Marcus :)

Hi all,

I also just wanted to say it was great to meet fellow AFF members, plus getting up close to the A380 and learning various facts and figures (I also now understand the numbering system for aircraft hangars!). Qantas really organised the day well, so big thanks to them.

Cheers!

Yes was definitely a fantastic day, the staff did a great job in organising it and can't thank them enough, it was a really enjoyable day!

It was good to meet quite a few AFFer's some new faces and some old, didn't get a chance to meet everybody as there were so many people there and had my non-FF non-AFF Mrs with me to keep company thinking that she wouldn't enjoy it but she loved it! :) now she wants to strive for Silver and to fly F... oh no another FF'er fanatic in the house, status runs for 2? :p

What is the numbering system?

What is the numbering system?

They told us the number represents what order the hanger was built, eg. Hanger 96, was the 96th Hanger built in NSW (not sure if that means just Qantas or other airlines/airports too).

Sounds like the Tokyo street numbering system!

I had a great day - thanks again to Red Roo for the invite! :D It was also a pleasure meeting a few of you (and the QF team) yesterday - this was actually the first time that I'd met others from AFF (and also obviously the first time guesting a fellow AFF'er into the J lounge (before the event))! Everyone is so friendly - I'll have to keep my eye out for future AFF meet-ups that don't clash with my schedule!

If anyone is interested in looking at my photos from the day, I have a private album (76 photos) set up on Facebook (not Twitter I know - but it can't be done on there, so I have an excuse! :p)... I'll post the link on the AFF private group Facebook wall in a moment. If you're not on FB (or a member of the FB group), I'm happy to share the link via PM instead :)

And to the hanger discussion - IIRC the numbers assigned are based on the order in which the hangers were built in NSW (not specific to an airline). :)
